R. M. Dubuc
Stocking stuffers are a great way to show your favorite mom how much you care on Christmas. Stocking stuffers are often small gifts, but choosing a few small items based on mom's favorite things can be a good way to personalize her stocking this year. Most moms aren't fussy and for stocking stuffer gift ideas, it really is the thought that counts. This holiday season, consider shopping for a few of your favorite mom's stocking stuffers early so you have time to plan and finish filling her stocking. Many small items can be put in her stocking to complete the list. All of the stocking stuffer ideas for moms are priced at $20 or less. Ideally, a good stocking for mom will be filled with a mix of small and larger stocking stuffer items.

1. Coffee Gift Cards

Many moms enjoy a good cup of coffee once in awhile. Coffee gift cards or coupons to a favorite coffee shop, such as Dunkin Donuts, Tim Hortons, or Starbucks are a great stocking stuffer idea for any busy mom. If the mom is not a coffee drinker, many of the brand name chains also offer a variety of sweet treats and teas.

2. Good Chocolate

Quality chocolate can go a long way to winning over a mother's heart this holiday. Consider adding a small box or large bar of a quality brand chocolate to a mom's stocking this year. Chocolate from local specialty stores can be an especially sweet treat for any mom.

3. Movie Passes

There are times when even moms need a night out and putting a few movie passes in a mother's stocking is a great way to give her a night at the movies. Many large theater chains, such as Regal Cinemas, offer movie gift cards. Throw in some microwave popcorn and a theater size candy to complete this stocking stuffer.

4. Bath and Body Works

Bath and Body Works is a great place to look for a few small stocking stuffer sized bottles of scented lotion, body spray, or shower gel. Bath and Body Works has both online and local stores which offer small 2-4 ounce travel sizes in popular scented items.

5. Restaurant Gift Cards

Send your favorite mom out to lunch with a gift card from a popular local restaurant. Applebees, Fridays, Carrabbas, Perkins, Bob Evans, Cracker Barrel, and many other restaurant chains offer holiday gift cards. A twenty dollar gift card will cover lunch for 2 at most restaurants.

6. Framed Favorite Photo

Do you have a special photo that might make a nice framed gift for your mom? A framed desk photo is a cool idea for moms who work, as well as stay-at-home moms. Old photos are a great way to bring back memories and most mothers will cherish gifts like this.

7. Scented Candles

One of the best brand of scented candles is the well-known Yankee Candles. The scents can fill a room and the candles are top quality. Yankee Candle also carries less expensive candle wax tarts, which can be a great stocking stuffer for moms who love to light a candle once in awhile. The Yankee tarts come in a variety of scents and are priced at about $1.79 each.

8. The Latest Bestseller

Moms who like to read will appreciate a new book in their stocking. Before buying any books as a stocking stuffer, ask your special mom what books she likes to read if you aren't already aware. Check Oprah's Book Club list or the New York Time Bestseller list for ideas.

Good suggestions but with the economy the way it is I would stay away from gift cards.
