The Best Christmas Theatre Productions for Children in Huntsville, Alabama

Amanda Dyar
During the holidays it's always great to spend time with your family, and as a parent it's a great treat for my children to go to the theater. At Christmas time, some great places to take the kids are to local theater productions and one of our favorites is "A Christmas Carol" and a great place to see this is at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama. It is a Live musical theater production of Charles Dickens' classic tale of Scrooge presented by Fantasy Playhouse Children's Theater. The MCT Christmas Show at The Chan Auditorium, UAH Campus in Huntsville, AL also has a great show full of humor and Christmas cheer for the kiddies. The entire event lasts approximately 2 hours 30 minutes and includes several different Christmas plays. It allows the child to experience several different types of shows.

"A Christmas Tale" held at Trinity United Methodist Church has the answer with a telling story of optimism, worship and the birth of a Savior. It provokes the minds of children during the eventful holiday season. If your looking for a change of pace, My Three Angels tells a heart warming story of how people who went down the wrong path and did things that they shouldn't have turn it around and in the end make it right just in time for Christmas. This story gives children a look at morals and doing what is right. And lastly there is nothing more exciting during the holidays than taking the children to see a musical. The Barra MacNeils- A Celtic Christmas is a musical full of festive frolic for the holiday season. All of these are great events for the children and always make the holiday season a little brighter.

During the holiday season it is always important to take the time to spend it with family and find activities that can bring you closer together. Christmas plays can come part of the tradition your family carries on for years to come. Families can also make their own plays based off their favorites and choose to do these on the day of Christmas for a little extra holiday fun. It is always good to make your own traditions and fun experiences so your kids will be happy to pass it on to their children down the road. The plays that a family chooses to go see is based on the likes of the family. The ideas that I have mentioned above might not be for every family, and it is up to you to find activities that your family may like.
