The Best Clubs in Kansas City, Missouri

Sharayah McDonald
Kansas City Power and Light District is becoming the most popular place for young adults to hang out at. There are many different clubs, bars, and even a bowling ally, all standing underneath a dome the size of a football field. It's the perfect place to go with a group of friends. There's clubs like Mosaic Lounge, where you can sit down in an elegant, chic setting and sip on martinis, or Angels Rock Bar, dance all night while taking shots at the bar or McFadden's Sports Saloon, for the guys that want to go out to watch the game. Power and Light also has an outdoor area, with live DJ's, and huge dance floor, alcoholic beverage stands, seating, and food stands, if you don't feel like going into a particular club, and you'd like to hang out outside. But clubs and bars are not the only highlights to the place. There are many restaurants such as Chipotle, Bristol Seafood and Grill, and Famous Dave's Barbecue, just to name a few.

Lucky Strike is also a great part of Power and light. The twelve lane bowling ally hosts a very chic lounge at night. You can bowl a game with your friends, and then go sit down at their many couches and settees, and enjoy some drinks. Renting the ally for special events is also available.

Power and Light is also a great place to see a free concert during the summer. And every Friday during the summer, they have Friday night Live, where you can hear tribute bands, as well as other bands play, while you walk around to the different bars, or sit on the padded benches , or rock out on the dance floor just below them.

Power and Light sits in the middle of Downtown Kansas City's business district, where you are a five minute walk away from the Sprint Center, or any restaurant you want. There are many parking garages for your convenience, and for your safety there are always policemen and security standing at the front entrance.

There is also a dress code. There have been people disputing about how strict it is, but as long as you're not sagging, or wearing jeans with holes all over, or gang signs on your shirts, there is nothing to dispute. They want it to have a clean and dressed up reputation. it's not a place to wear a shirt and shorts to. You will want to dress up. They do not discriminate if you don't have nice expensive clothes, or by race, or sex. As long as you're clean, and put together, and follow their guidelines, they welcome you to come and have fun.
