The Best Coffee Cocktail and After Dinner Drinks

Coffee, It's Not Just for Breakfast Anymore

Barb Webb
Coffee lovers comprise over one third of the world's population. It's no wonder, the aroma, the flavor, the pick-me-up: a warm cup of coffee of a cold latte adds a pleasurable experience and a little bit of comfort to our day.

Your love of coffee can carry over to night time indulgences and party time, too, with these delicious coffee cocktails and coffee after-dinner drinks. Jones your java fix with these easy to make, delectable delights:

Mint Cappuccino Kicker

A smooth, coffee-ity, chocolate-ity concoction with a peppermint kick. Be careful-this one will warm you up quick!

Ingredients:

1 Shot of Chocolate Liqueur

1 Shot of Cappuccino Liqueur

1 Shot of Peppermint Schnapps

1 Shot of Irish Cream Liqueur

Coffee

Instructions:

In a tall coffee cup, add alcohol in order listed. Fill remainder of coffee cup with coffee. Serve.

Optional: Garnish with whip cream and/or chocolate shavings.

**

Black Pirate

Not for land-lubbers. Yo Ho, me mate's, this cocktail drink is perfect for those briny days at sea.

Ingredients:

1 Shot of Crème de Cacao

1 Shot of Dark Rum

Coffee (cold)

Instructions:

In a short cocktail glass filled with ice, add alcohol in order listed. Fill remainder of glass with coffee. Stir. Serve.

**

Bourbon Street Punch

This southern coffee crowd pleaser is a big hit at daytime parties and brunch. Also great for dessert tables at evening events.

Ingredients:

4 Shots of Amaretto

4 Cups of Bourbon Whiskey

1 and ½ Quarts of Coffee (cold)

1 Pint of Half and Half Cream

1 Quart of Vanilla Ice Cream

Instructions:

Pour alcohol and coffee into a large punch bowl. Stir in half and half cream. Using an ice cream scooper to form ball shapes, add all of the ice cream to the punch bowl. Do not stir- allow ice cream to melt over time, then stir into punch when/if completely melted.

Notes: This drink will go fast, so the ice cream typically won't have time to melt! If it does, the drink will still be good for one to two hours after ice cream has melted.

**

Chocolate Coffee Kiss

This romantic drink will leave you warm and tingly all over.

Ingredients:

1 Shot of Coffee Liqueur

1 Shot of Irish Cream

1 Teaspoon of Crème de Cacao

1 Teaspoon of Grand Marnier

Chocolate Syrup

Coffee (hot)

Instructions:

In a tall coffee cup, add alcohol in order listed. Add chocolate syrup (about 2 teaspoons.) Fill remainder of coffee cup with coffee. Stir. Serve.

Optional: Garnish with whipped cream, shaved chocolate, and a cherry.
