The Best Coleman Tents for Under $200 Dollars

Five Coleman Tents for Under $200 Dollars

The only way to go camping is with a Coleman tent, that's what I think anyway. It is the first name name that I always think of when I think of camping equipment. I bet you do too! Coleman's are good solid practical tents; although there are other tent companies out there that make tents for the super supreme uber camper that has money and a budget they want to burn.

Camping in a leaking tent with messy mosquitoes, buzzing bees and bugs are not my idea of a good time. I once
experienced tenting and feeling like I was in the movie, "Gone with the Wind". One minute my tent was there the next, "Gone with the Wind". Needless to say it was not a Coleman. Consider that a lesson learned, borrowing a tent that is not a Coleman so I didn't have to buy one was not a good idea. I also don't like claustrophobic camping tents cramping my style. My idea of a good tent is one that protects me from the elements, bugs, and yields some space to spread out. Five of my favorite Coleman tents that are under $200 are described below including one for man's best friend.

The perfect family tent for under $200 dollars for my money is the Family Coleman Dome Tent. It can divide in
to two or three configurations depending on what you choose and it sleeps six to eight people. The features
I look for when I purchasing a tent are that it handles the wind and weather well, and it has screens to block those bothersome bugs and it is spacious. I like to look at Next tags to hunt for bargains and sales.

The Montana Big Sky Tent is another good tent for a group experience as it sleeps six. It includes the features that I feel are must haves that I listed above. I like the ventilation in this tent as sometimes things can get fairly stuffy in a tent. As an added plus, the tent is fire retardant and it has an electrical access port. Because of the pole in this style tent, it is easy to stand upright.

Although the Family Coleman Dome & Montana Big Sky are wonderful tents, sometimes the kids like to sleep
alone. This is especially important if they decided to bring a buddy with them. For this purpose my favorite children's tent is the Milky Way Tent. This tent can be found at discount stores such as Wal-mart. I got one for my nephew for backyard sleepovers for less than $30.00, but it is definitely work in the woods.

If you are new to the camping scene and want to try before you blow your budget on camping equipment, I'd get the Coleman Sundome. It comes in two different sizes, so it can sleep two or three people. It still has the things I look
for in a tent except it isn't as wind resistant as the Family Coleman Dome Tent. It is a tent which I found easy to erect. It doesn't help to buy a tent if you can't put it up to provide the shelter that you bought it for in the first place.

One of the best things about camping is that your best friend does not need to be leftbehind. I'm talking about your dog and yes, Coleman makes Mountaineer tents priced under $50.00 dollars for them. Keeping them separate will allow them to enjoy the call of the wild. The other thing is, "Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas". With your beloved
companion in their own tent that won't happen.

In some areas of the country, you can find Coleman outlets for tents and other camping equipment. If you go to this Coleman's website: http://www.coleman.com/coleman/find_dealer.asp?product_id=none you can enter you zip code, city or state information and find a store or an outlet near you. Other tents can be read about and explored on the Coleman website www.Coleman.com. Happy camping.

Dogs enjoy camping almost as much as humans. Remember to take them with you and they can have fun in their own Coleman tent. For them it is like a den. You'll be the leader of the pack.

I loved camping when I was growing up...we're ok now, but there was a couple times in recent years, I thought we'd HAVE to 'go camping' just to have a place to stay. Great info for sure!
