Located in a house in South Austin, Lovely Austin offers a serene shopping experience. I especially like the service. Remember when clothing stores had helpful sales people with suggestions and knowledge of every piece of clothing in the store? That's one of the many lovely things about Lovely Austin.

To consign:
Bring your items to Lovely Austin Tuesday - Saturday 10am-6pm. It's a good idea to call or e-mail for an appointment. You can also send pictures of items to make sure they will take them, especially if you are consigning furniture or home decor. Clothing should be cleaned, pressed, and in excellent condition.

With clothing, jewelry, and accessories like these, your look will be uniquely yours. Lucy in Disguise caters more to my children's age group than my own, but I confess, I love going there to browse and if you ever need a tiara (and who doesn't) Lucy's has the best selection in Austin.

Lucy's is open 11-7 Monday - Saturday, 12-6 Sunday. Lucy in Disguise is located in Austin's SoCo district; you can spend an entire day shopping all of the stores.

I'll be forever grateful to Next to New's estate sales. When my father died, Next to New picked up everything we weren't keeping and sold it on consignment for us. They were kind and helpful. Located in central Austin, Next to New has operated since 1959 by volunteers of St. David's parish.

I love going to Next to New just to browse although I usually find something to buy. Their merchandise includes "antiques, appliances, art, Bibles, CDs, china, clocks, collectibles, cookbooks, dishes, furniture, glassware, holiday items, house wares, jewelry, lamps, office supplies, radios, rugs, silver, stereos (complete systems), TVs, women's clothing and more."

To consign:
Bring your items to Next-To-New Tuesday through Friday, 10am to 2pm, or on Saturday, 10 am to noon. You'll get 50% and they'll keep 50%.

To shop:
Next to New is open 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 pm, Saturday,closed Sundays and major holidays.

Next to New offers special sales in October, November, and December.
