The Best Cruise Ship for Families

Sara Sentor
While most cruise ships cater to families in different ways, the best choice is the biggest cruise line-the Royal Caribbean. The Royal Caribbean has something to offer everyone in the family, regardless of age. The cruise line divides the family into different age groups and then caters to each of the age groups offering activities that ensure every member has a blast.

Infants and Toddlers
Parents of infants and toddlers can take advantage of the babysitting offered to relax on their trip. For infants and toddlers up to 36 months of age, there is the Royal Babies and Royal Tots program. The children are offered early childhood playgroup sessions based on Fisher Price and other activities that offer learning and fun. Parents can join the group or ask for babysitting and enjoy day and night child care options. Parents can enjoy shopping, fine dining, excursions on land and late night dancing secure in the knowledge that their child is being cared for by professionals.

Pre-schoolers and Tweens
The Adventure Ocean program offers age-appropriate activities for children ages 3 to 11 and 12 to 14. Children are separated by age and can interact with their peers to learn local customs and have fun. They can take part in sports, parties and other activities all within an organized and structured environment. All the staff taking part in this program are trained and have experience in child care.

Teens
Teenagers are always the hardest group to cater to but even with this hard-to-please age group, the Royal Caribbean has come up with something perfect for these soon-to-be adults. Children between the ages of 12 to 14 and 15 to 17 are given the freedom to enjoy all aspects of the cruise like adults but with certain limitations. They have the freedom to go anywhere on the ship, participate in themed parties and discos exclusively for their ages. They can go to teen disco on board and have mocktails enjoying the knowledge that the disco is a no-parent zone. They can watch movies on big screens and chill out in teen lounges. In short, the experience for the teen is much like the adult within legal limits.

Families
The Royal Caribbean Cruise has something for the whole family. From rock climbing to ice rinks and swimming pools to water parks the Royal Caribbean ensures that adults and children enjoy time together and alone. The cruise is organized to ensure every person has the best vacation ever.
