The Best Diets Around: A Look at Weight Watchers

J. Matthison
At some point, almost every woman (and man, too) has wanted to lose weight. Some people only had a few pounds to lose while others had a lot. Regardless of the amount of weight needed to lose, the main goal shared by everyone is to keep the extra pounds off. In order to do this, it is important to find a diet that you can follow without limiting your choices. There is one diet that does just that -- Weight Watchers.

Weight Watchers has been one of the most dominating diets (or how they refer to it: lifestyle) around. My experience with this diet has been wonderful - in fact, I was able to lose almost 50lbs. Besides offering a simple way to track your foods, they offer results. And results is something every one that goes on a diet wants.

The Weight Watchers plan is simple: You are assigned a certain number of points depending on your weight. To lose weight, you must stay within your point target. The process is similar to balancing a checkbook. Your point target is your starting balance and your food is your debits. What you want is to end up with a positive amount or a zero balance (have I confused you yet?).

When you decide to follow Weight Watchers, you will need to decide if you would like to follow the plan by using local meetings, online through their website, or using the at-home program. Personally, I have used the online program as well as the at-home. Keep in mind, each of the options will provide you with the same tools to use but if you really need a supportive environment to keep you on track, choose the local meetings.

Once you have decided on your type of program, you will receive a variety of information that will tell you all about the Weight Watchers plan. You will also receive a book that has almost every food item available and the list of points the food item is worth. Then you just find your point target by using the provided list and eat foods to stay within your limit.

One of the best benefits about Weight Watchers is that you can eat any food you want. You just need to remember to stay within your point range and budget your points wisely.

As far as weight loss goes, you can expect to lose around 2lbs a week. Keep in mind that during your first two weeks, you will lose more - but it is mostly water.

So if you are looking for a diet, or new lifestyle, that will work and that is easy to stick with - check into Weight Watchers. You won't regret it!
