The Best Doctor Songs

It's funny how people tend to be so quiet in waiting rooms when they are waiting to get in to see a doctor. In fact, it is usually so quiet that it is easy to pick up on the music that is playing lightly from somewhere above. So often it is just a local radio station that plays generic soft music. Still, without the music we would be in near total silence while waiting for our physicians so, even elevator music is a plus.

The last time I found myself in a medical building waiting to see my doctor, there were few distractions to help pass the time. There were the sounds of people turning magazine pages and the soft hum of elevator music. I sat there wondering why they never turned the volume up past a whisper and why they didn't have some decent music playing. Many people believe that music and health go hand in hand and that got me thinking even more.

It seems to me that it would take very little effort to make waiting rooms more pleasant simply by tending to the music. It should be loud enough that people are able to make out the words of the songs. A decent song list would also make waiting much more interesting. With a little imagination, doctors could have quite a bit of fun spicing up their song library. They could even throw in tunes that have a doctor theme to them. Bad Case Of Loving You / Robert Palmer
This is a fun, upbeat song that should get people smiling and tapping their toes. When Robert Palmer sings about his doctor giving him the news, anyone that is in the waiting room for test results will be able to fully relate.

Dr Livingston I Presume/ The Moody Blues
Here is a classic rock tune that has a lilting spirit about it. There are just a lot of fun and cheerful visuals that are easily pulled from the lyrics of this tune. When The Moody Blues sing of Dr. Livingston stepping out of the jungle, even young children will crack a smile.

Doctor Love / KISS
KISS made this classic rock tune as sexy as it gets. It has a throbbing beat and clear vocals that will get the attending physicians dancing between examining rooms. Be sure to include this song on any disk you might make as a gift for a doctor.

This song is an easy listening rock tune that fits the bill perfectly. Anyone waiting with questions about their condition will relate to Jackson Browne singing about asking his doctor for answers. It's a great tune with a happy feel about it .

The longer we sit and wait, the more we wonder what in the heck we are doing there. It is a common feeling for people that sit longer than they should have to when waiting to see a doctor. This song might be just the thing to lighten the mood and make the wait more fun. It might also be just enough to make some people get up and walk out the door so use it with caution.

It is pretty easy to see how sprinkling these tunes in to a play list might make a physicians office a unique experience. Time is as precious as the smiles that these tunes will bring.
