PAAS Easter Egg Coloring Kit : Zoo Fun
I absolutely love this egg coloring kit for toddlers, especially ages 2 to 4 years old. The main reason behind that is because the animal stickers used to decorate the eggs really help the child get into knowing their animals and the sounds each make. It's a learning process, plus an edible product in the end.
All you need to do with this egg coloring kit is to dye the eggs just like you would with any traditional egg coloring kit then stick on the Zoo animal stickers and place them in their egg stands. Nothing could be simpler when it comes to decorating an egg!
PAAS Easter Egg Coloring Kit: Sports Fanatic
I have a little boy, age 6, who is into sports like you would not believe. I have already bought this product this year and tested it out to see if it is a coloring kit I would like to have around for years to come. I have to admit that this one will be a keeper as long as it stays on the market.
The best part about this egg is there is no coloring involved! Yes, no mess! Just boil your eggs and let them cool and then slide the plastic sports sleeves over the cooled eggs. If you want to do a little more with you egg, the kit also comes with sports stickers and egg stands to show off the sports fanatic in all of us! My son loves this so much he is already asking me to buy another box so we can do some more decorating!
PAAS Easter Egg Coloring Kit: Tattoos
Are your kids really big into those self stick tattoos? I know mine is, so I had to try this one out last year! It really gives any kid a great after gift! There are 30 tattoos stickers in this egg coloring kit box and if you have only colored a dozen or two eggs you will have a few left over to allow the children to apply the non-toxic tattoos onto their own skin!
Now if they are just wanting to apply the tattoos to the eggs, this kit comes with the original egg coloring kit that is found in any traditional coloring kit. Color the eggs, allow them to cool and then personalize the egg with the tattoo the child wants!
I know I said I was only going to give you my top 3, however, I have to recommend a couple more that I just love as well.
PAAS Easter Egg Coloring Kit: Color Cups
Every time I try a new coloring kit I get sick of having to provide my own plastic cups or bowls to mix the water and the dye in. Usually the dye ends up messing up my Tupperware and I have to throw them into the trash. I hate wasting money, I cringe every time I do, but with this product I am already purchasing the cups at one low price with the coloring kit.
This egg coloring kit comes with 5 colored cups. This allows you to see the color of the egg without having to guess if it is blue or green. All you have to do is drop in the color tablet (provided in the kit) add the water and dye your eggs away. Another great plus about this product is the cups are shaped like eggs so your egg that your are coloring will fit perfectly into the cup without touching the sides!
A magic crayon also comes with this kit. It allows you or the children to write on the non-dyed egg before placing it in the dye. Then when you dye the egg the word or words magically appear on the egg!
PAAS Easter Egg Coloring Kit: Color Snaps
This kit uses no dye, no cups, and no water. But wait, how do you color the eggs? PAAS has marketed Easter egg pens just like markers. Just snap the ends of the 5 color wands and the color in the pens flows to the tip. The child (or yourself) then paints the boiled egg just like they would a piece of paper! It's really simple and fast!
All of these products can be found at your local Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target or any grocery store. Most of these will never cost you no more then $5 a box. I can't give you an exact price only because every state things always have different prices on them.
Now that I have given you a head start on which Easter egg coloring kit to buy, I want to also give you some tips when it comes to coloring eggs. Most of these tips are pretty general and common sense, however when we start the egg coloring process we tend to get so caught up in what the eggs are going to look like, that we overlook the simplest things we should have done.
Tip 1 - Boil your eggs. Once your eggs have been placed into a pan of water and it comes to a boil, it is recommended to allow them to stay in the boiling water for 10-12 minutes to ensure they are done. Boiled eggs are easier to handle, easier to hide, and perfect for eating!
Tip 2 - Wash your hands! Make sure you wash your hands before starting your egg coloring project and often during the whole process. Clean hands helps to ensure your eggs are dyed evenly!
Tip 3 - Cover your egg coloring area with paper towels or old newspapers. This will most definitely help when clean up time comes around!
Tip 4 - When you are filling up the cups of dye with water make sure you only fill them a little less then 3/4 full. Law of Science reminds us that once something heavy is placed into a cup of water the water will rise. You don't want the cup to be to full so it runs over when the egg is placed in the dye.
Tip 5 - Adding 1 to 2 tablespoons of vinegar to each cup filled with water and dye. You don't have to do this, however I have come to find out that if you do, the dye sticks to the egg a hundred percent better!
Tip 6 - To achieve a lighter color of the dye in the cup, only leave the egg in there for a minute or less. To ensure a darker, more robust color of the dye, leave the egg in the cup as long as you possibly can, or five minutes (maybe a little more). Lift the eggs periodically to check the color of the egg and to see if it has reached your initial color preference.
Happy Easter egg coloring!
