The Best Eyeshadow for Your Eye Color!

With Suggested High-end Brands/shades

Wendy Rose Gould
One of the number one things to keep in mind when shopping for your eyes is making sure you buy a color that makes your peepers POP! The worst thing you want is to diminish the beauty of your eyes. Just like the perfect shade of gloss livens up your pretty face, the perfect eyeshadow can make all the difference!

Rule number 1: Don't match the color of your eyes to your eyeshadow. That's not necessarily the best way to bring your poppers out!

Rule number 2: Opposites attract. That's right. Look at a color wheel and choose the shade that best matches your eye color. Now draw your finger right across to the opposite side. Colors in that shade are the best for you!

As a cosmetic fiend, I'm here to guide you to the best products. So without further ado, I present to you my list:

Hazel/Green Eyes: Golden browns, warm taupe shades, deep purples, soft peaches and soft violets

NARS Party Monster (lilac with gold shimmer)

Benefit's Soft Shoulder (matte burnish peach)

Smashbox's Cabernet (deep wine with soft burgundy shimmer)

Fresh's Calais Lace (light peach)

Grey Eyes: Cool brown, charcoal and purple.

Urban Decay's Baked (bronze shimmer)

NARS Thunderball (midnight gray)

Urban Decay's Asphyxia (lavender with blue sheen)

Stila's Dune (matte neutral beige)

Light-Dark blue Eyes: Rich warm browns, warm taupe shades and soft peachy colors.

Urban Decay's Shot Gun (shimmery brownish rose)

Stila's Kitten (shimmering nude pink)

Smashbox's Nude (matte soft caramel)

Make Up Forever's Cafe Latte (matte light brown)

Bourjois's Wet/Dry Brun Irreel (taupe shimmer)

Light-Dark Brown eyes: You are lucky ladies. Brown eyed girls can wear just about anything they want and their eyes will be all aglow!

Pop Beauty's Brown Eyes Set (glittering plum, shimmering greys, midnight wines, alluring pinks)

Urban Decay's Vert (shimmering vibrant green)

TOO Faced's Mess In A Dress (bright fuchsia)

SUGAR's Round The Clock Eye Shadow Palette - Punch Out (a palette of eight bright shimmering and matte shades)

Make Up Forever's Matte Cold Red (just like it sounds)

And finally, these shades work on pretty much any eye color according to Free-beauty-tips.com. Some tried and true favorites of make-up artists include these shades: "navy or charcoal base to define and a powder-blue shadow for highlighting (it brightens your brow bone so any eye color pops." As for some more funky and fun shades, try a silvery-sparkle eyeshadow. This color can make any eye edgy-looking and is sure to draw some attention! Check out Urban Decay's Uzi, a metallic silver with silver sparkles. Trust me when I say it's awesome!

Lastly, you don't always have to adhere to these rules. In fact, it's fun to play with color - am I right? But, on a night that you really want to enhance the beauty of your gorgeous eyes, don't forget this list!
