The Best Family Vacation Destination

Beaches Boscobel Ocho Rios, Jamaica

The best family vacation I ever had was at the Beaches Boscobel Resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. If you are looking for a fantastic family vacation spot, a destination wedding location for your entire family, or even a family reunion vacation then Beaches Boscobel in Ocho Rios, Jamaica is the place for you.

We recently returned from a fabulous and relaxing family trip to Beaches Boscobel. We were joined by my parents and my three siblings and their families. We gathered together to celebrate my brother and sister-in-law's marriage and since they live in Australia and the rest of us are in the United States, it was also a family reunion vacation.

We chose Beaches Boscobel in Ocho Rios, Jamaica because it is an all-inclusive resort that provides activities and entertainment for all ages. There were fourteen of us including four children and we ranged in age from 3 to 62. Everything was included! All of our meals (including tips), beverages (even alcohol), activities for the kids and a great supervised kids camp, the beach and water sports, two swimming pools, and Pirates Island Waterpark with tons of slides that even the adults could ride on.

All of us thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food and the fact that you could eat whatever and whenever you wanted. The five specialty restaurants were all fantastic and offered such variety. Bayside offers a buffet at breakfast, lunch, and dinner with each night being a different theme. My favorite was seafood night with lobster tail and peel and eat shrimp - yum! My son loved the made-to-order omelets at breakfast. Arizona's had the best steak and a nice salad bar and we enjoyed a family dinner with all fourteen of us out on the pier as the sun set - what a view! The Venetian offers delicious Italian fare for the entire family. Everything was scrumptious and my son even tried calamari and lamb. Eleanor's is a white glove adult only restaurant and this was my favorite dining experience especially since I enjoyed it with my siblings and their spouses and no children! The BBQ Park is open for lunch and has the most delicious onion rings along with burgers, grilled chicken and a nacho bar with guacamole. My three year old had nachos every day.

We had fun swimming in the ocean, sitting on the beach, and we went snorkeling three times. We saw many fish and a few of us saw a manna ray, octopus, and a sand shark. The water slides were a hit! It was great to see my dad going down the water slides and the kids went down them over and over again. They were fun, but the green slide gives wedgies. My kids enjoyed the supervised kid's camp where they baked cookies, made pizza, learned about the plants and flowers native to Jamaica, watched movies, did a fashion show, and did a variety of crafts. My three year old loved visits and shows from the Sesame Street characters. We also tie dyed as a family and my son enjoyed the Xbox room which gave him a break from the very hot Jamaican sun. The kid's camp also gave my husband and I a break and a chance to sit on our beach chairs and relax and read.

We all had such a wonderful time with our family at Beaches Boscobel in Ocho Rios, Jamaica that it was hard to leave. We created such wonderful family memories. I would definitely go back some day. My kids still talk about our time there and wonder if we are going back to Jamaica soon. Beaches Boscobel was the perfect vacation destination for our extended family!
