In-n-Out Burger:***1/2
In and out burger is pretty delicious. Fresh meat, always a plus. Fresh toppings. Decently sized. Great cheese. Sloppy sauce goop on top is especially excellent. However the bun on the burger bothers me a little bit and the meat isn't nearly as juicy as I would have liked. This burger probably would have gotten a higher rating had everyone who tried it before me not told me it was the best burger that they had ever had. Where are you people eating burgers? I don't know, but another thing hindering the In-n-Out burger is that, while their fries are extremely fresh, they are very weird. Something about the texture just isn't right. They're kind of mealy, and a little too sweet. I would eat this burger again, but it would be in correlation with being near the place while I was hungry or driving past it while I was on my way someplace and looking for a dinner stop.
Carl's Junior: ****
Carl's Junior tastes a bit like Wendy's, as far as the quality of the burger is concerned. However as a kid who grew up on Wendy's, so this is no big deal. It makes it more fast-foody than other burgers, which kind of cheapens it in the way of "dinner" and makes it more "on the way food" However the Six Dollar Western Bacon Cheeseburger, with its onion rings, barbeque, and yummy cheese is a knockout. And the fries aren't too terrible either. No wonder Paris likes this place. I definitely ate it multiple times. My only question: Why does the "Six Dollar Burger" cost less that $6? Strange.
Fatburger:****1/2
Fatburger is a masterpiece of big, huge, juicy meat. It has cheesy cheese, deliciously sloppy sauce, great pickles (a key), and plenty of great fries either thick or thin depending on what you want. And these fries can be covered with cheese and chili. You can also get bacon or an egg on your burger so it's good for breakfast. Made from fresh ingredients right in front of your eyes so you know it's good. My only qualm is that every time I ate here, one burger and a few fries had me so full I thought I was going to explode, not to mention the rock that I lived with in my stomach the next day, something I usually don't experience from burgers. I would eat here again however, and I would suck it up, because it was that good.
Hamburger Haven (or Heaven):*****
I don't remember the name exactly, but it is on Santa Monica on the way to Santa Monica. I got lost once and ended up here for a bathroom/food stop. It was so good. Greasy, moderately sized, sloppy, customizable burgers, with great toppings. All fresh. Amazing diner-type fries. No complaints at all. Even the bun, my least favorite part of any burger, was great. Would eat here many times over. My favorite part? As I left Anthony Bourdain, my favorite celebrity chef, was walking in; my first celebrity sighting, and a good one for a burger joint. Find this place and go here.
