When living in the city finding the perfect fishing spot can be hard. These fishing spots are just around the corner and offer great scenery and places to catch fish.

Lake Logan Martin - Pell City, AL

Lake Logan Martin is located on the Coosa River and has 275 miles of shoreline. Some of Alabama's best bass fishing goes on at this lake. Lakeside Landing RV Park and Marina offers RV camping and a place to store your boat. The marina also offers a tackle shop where you can find any fishing supplies you may need. If you are hungry, the marina offers food as well as plenty of restaurants located near by. For pricing and reservations, please contact the park.

Directions: From junction I-20 and US 231 (exit 158), south 6 miles on US 231. Turn left into the Chevron Convenient store parking lot. The office is located inside the Chevron Convenient store.

Lake Guntersville - Guntersville, AL

Lake Guntersville is Alabama's largest lake. Several free boat ramps and marinas surround the lake. Primitive camping is $12 and a full hook-up costs $21. Town Creek Fishing Center offers boats that you can rent for the day ranging from $20 to $250, depending on the type of boat you rent. The Pinecrest Dining Room is available inside the Guntersville State Park. Additional restaurants are located within minutes from the lake. The marinas can supply any type of fishing gear needed.

Directions: From I-59 North, take exit 174 toward Steele. Turn left on Steele Station Road. Turn right on AL-7/US 11 N and continue to follow this road. Turn left at 3rd Street NW. Take the first left onto US 431. Take a slight right onto County Road 65. Take a left at County Road 414, then right at Gerald Bryant Road. Turn right at AL-227 south and your destination will be on the left.

Pickwick Lake - Florence, AL

Pickwick is a 30,175 acre lake that runs along the Tennessee River. It is a great place to go bass fishing as well as other types of fishing. A fishing license is necessary for anyone under the age of 16 that is using a rod and reel. Hotel accommodations are located nearby and convenient to Pickwick Lake, ranging from $85 - $150 a night.

Directions: Take I-20 W toward I-59 S/Tuscaloosa (I-65). Take exit 124B/Huntsville onto I-65 N. Take exit 310/Cullman/Moulton toward West Point/Moulton. Turn left on Al-157. Continue on Hereford Lane. Take a slight left onto Joe Wheeler Highway/US-72. Make a u-turn at S Tennessee Street on Lee Highway. Destination will be on the right.
