The Best Florists in Hermiston

There are times when you just need to know where the florist is; like when it is time for a wedding, a graduation or an anniversary. Then of course we know about the funeral service, those flowers are not for the deceased but for the family and they mean much more than just a fist full of flowers. In each of these occasions there is a specific message to convey. Most communities have at least one florist. Hermiston, Oregon has four; recently I made a tour of the four florist shops to see what set them apart from each other.

Safeway florist department has balloons, lovely vases, and fresh flowers as well as potted house plants. The service is friendly and the selection pleasing. The florist is in the front corner of the store next to the produce, is convenient and lends itself to that quick purchase of fresh flowers for the table as you shop for the daily menu. They also do arrangements for funerals, weddings or other special occasions. New baby arrangements with cute appropriate little containers and holiday arrangements with hearts for Valentines Day or little bunnies for Easter are standard fare. I would rate this florist high for convenience due to the location.

Kopacz Nursery and Florist not only has a full service florist shop (you can view arrangements online at www.kopacznurseryandflorist.com ) but a nursery as well. You can wander in the nursery year round choosing fruit and shade trees or evergreens and ornamentals from a large selection. In spring and summer there are greenhouses full of bedding plants and perennials, garden ornaments and wind chimes, seeds and houseplants. When the occasion is special the staff helps you choose just the right arrangement or gift. They specialize in wedding flowers and funeral arrangements and have an extensive selection of house plants. They have Teleflora service and accept all major credit cards. I would rate this florist very high for plant selection, and reliability. They are friendly and helpful, their flowers are fresh and the quality of the plants is top notch.

Petal Pusher and More also has a fine selection of flowers, and a moderate selection of gifts and the ubiquitous balloons. In addition they display some home décor items and have espresso and candy for the weary shopper. They are conveniently located at the West end of Main St. on Hyw 395 and the window displays change with seasonal color offerings. Wire and delivery service are available and the arrangements are fresh and appealing. Teleflora service is also available. I would rate this florist high for convenience and appeal.

Cottage Flowers is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00AM to 6:00PM and on Sunday from 12 Noon to 5:00 PM. They have the requisite selection of lovely fresh flowers and potted plants plus a magnificent gift and home décor selection. Wire (FTD) and Teleflora services are available.

The delivery service is extensive, covering surrounding communities in an approximately 30 mile radius. They do wedding arrangements, party rental services, and special occasion arrangements. They have two special events a year, a summer sale and an after Christmas sale.

What makes Cottage Flowers stand out is the marvelous shop with antiques, unique gifts and special one of a kind home décor items. There is a lovely selection of fountains for indoor or outdoor use, fine art statuary for the garden and lovely prints and figurines for the home. One of a kind wood turnings of spalted birch and other woods caught my eye, and I spent a good deal of time admiring the classy bags and lovely jewelry. I would rate this florist high for the extensive gift shop and other household décor they offer in addition to the florist side of the business.

All in all my survey of the Hermiston florist shops was very delightful. They all have the standard arrangements, fresh flowers, delivery service and special occasion services. What set them apart from each other are the secondary offerings of the shops.
