The Best Food Blogs Out There

Laura Brady
One of the wonders of the internet linked with the huge food revolution around the world is the prevalence of great food and wine blogs. There are so many unique and innovative cooks out there, and lucky for those of us who love to cook and eat as well, they want to share. Here are a few deliciously creative food blogs.

Chocolateandzucchini.com is an elegant yet cozily chatty food blog written by a young French woman living in Paris. She writes in English like a native speaker about the delicious delights she cooks up for herself, friends and family. Her pictures are star quality and I'm eager to try out some of her ideas and techniques.

If you want some beautiful photography and a hilarious account of cooking lobster for the first time, visit Bea at latartinegourmande.com. She's from France but lives in Boston with her American husband. Like many of us obsessed with food and cooking she must write about her passion and she does so excellently. The August 10, 2007 post has absolutely gorgeous shots of fresh apricots that cry out to be fondled, licked and eventually eaten. Check it out!

For more delicious recipes with beautiful photos visit cookandeat.com. L posts recipes and photos almost daily and the postings are quality stuff. She also posts on a few other blogs that are linked through her site, such as best places for coffee and wifi and a photography/food styling blog. Very interesting reads and mouth-watering recipes/photos.

Want to read about how to make garlic/chocolate chip cookies? Perhaps linger over the "Tragic Tale of Grape Bubble Yum"? Maybe you'd enjoy the breakfast cereal rating guide or why social convention obligates women in social situations to only eat one slice of pizza while the men wolf down the rest. If this quirky narrative intermixed with great food recipes and close-up photos interests you, then check out Kate at Kate@accidentalhedonist.com. It's good reading, writing and eating.

There are literally hundreds of food and wine blogs floating out there in the internet, waiting to be discovered. Some of them are good, some bad, others mediocre and a few are exceptional. The ones that I've listed are just a few of the exceptional ones, written by people who truly are obsessed with food and have the skill and knowledge to write a consistent and helpful food blog. Stay tuned for more food blog news and reviews as I uncover these delectable food bytes.
