The restaurant is located in Astoria in Queens, New York. Parking can sometimes be a problem since the restaurant doesn't have their own parking lot but most of the time you can find parking on the side streets.
The two aspects that stand out the most are the restaurant's exception service and great food. Zygot's restaurant review gave 718 Restaurant a rating of 23 out of 30 which is pretty good. The dishes are particularly good are the Bass fish, venison and lobster. The food is absolutely delicious. My only problem with the food is a small portion of food but that has to be expected of any fancy restaurant. The salads are also fancy and not everyone enjoys them. A pesto or basil dressing is used instead of the typical heavy and thick dressing of Italian or Caesar.
The ambiance is also wonderful, with candlelit tables, olive oil used for bread instead of butter, and a bar located in the center of the room with just about every possible drink, wine, or alcoholic beverage imaginable.
The service as I previously mentioned is wonderful. Every 5 minutes a host or hostess will come by your table to make sure that everything was ok. A friend of mine who I went to dinner there ordered a drink and the restaurant had made the drink incorrectly and it replaced it right away. In addition, for a restaurant that is very popular and usually crowded, the waiters do not rush your food. The atmosphere is great to sit down and relax while you are having dinner.
As for prices, they are a bit steep, but if you go to any restaurant the prices are expensive. In fact there are no prices listed on the menu to order your food. Each dinner will cost anywhere from $25 to $30. Deserts and drinks are also expensive, ranging from $7 to $10 each.
This restaurant is a great place for couples, or restaurants to take a date on. If you are on a tight budget, you should probably look elsewhere.
