Try the Golden Bird restaurant located at 902 N. La Brea Avenue in Inglewood, CA. It is family owned and operated and is open 7 days a week from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm. This restaurant faces La Brea Avenue, is easy to get to and has ample parking on the street or in the back parking lot.
A true casual dining experience that caters to both dine-in, or carry-out orders. This bright and airy restaurant is super clean, has ample table seating and a nice spacious counter that faces an amazing Fizz Soda Bar, with hundreds upon hundreds of different brands of bottled soda pop.
The first Golden Bird restaurant was opened in Los Angeles, California in 1953. The Golden Bird concept started in Detroit, Michigan back in 1950 when a group of friends who hosted one another for dinner and parlor games, came up with the idea of opening up a fried chicken restaurant to feature one of the ladies' recipes.
Golden Bird is the only restaurant that uses a wet batter to ensure a delicious moist center, with a crispy outside and a favor that will knock your socks off! They use only peanut oil, which contains no transfat and their food is prepared fresh daily, it's never frozen so patience is a must. But what's 12 to 15 minutes really? The wait is worth it!
If you are in a hurry, you can call ahead and place a phone order for pick up. Their staff is waiting to hear from you, so call them (310) 671-0604.
Besides their famous Fried Chicken, their menu includes Catfish, Chicken Pot Pies, and both hot and cold side dishes; all for the taking. Home cooked Collard Greens, Fresh Coleslaw, Red Beans & Rice and Sweet Potato Fries to name a few. And their homemade biscuits are so large, I can guarantee you will only need one, and it's served with butter and honey for a melt in your mouth experience.
They have a nice selection of homemade desserts too. Try a delicious piece of Red Velvet, Carrot, or Better than Sex cake which are all individually packaged for easy carry out. You might want to satisfy that sweet tooth with some fresh Peach Cobbler or Banana Pudding.
The staff is friendly and attentive; the service is great, making this Golden Bird Restaurant a favorite amongst locals and inner city residents alike.
