Week 1
Tennessee at California(Sat. 9/1)
This should quiet all those SEC-haters who say no one in the SEC ever leaves their region. This game could have huge BCS implications at the end of the year because it is a matchup of two teams from the best two conferences. Cal will have payback on their mind after getting crushed in Knoxville to begin last season.
Week 2
Virginia Tech at LSU(Sat. 9/8)
Every one will be a Hokie next year cheering for VT the whole way. This will be the Hokies first real test and could be the most memorable game of the college football season if they can spring the major upset. LSU is loaded but with a new quarterback running the show, the Tigers could be unpredictable to start the season. This game has upset written all over it.
Week 3
USC at Nebraska(Sat. 9/15)
This is my favorite outside of the conference matchup of the season. Nebraska appears to be on the rise again and if they can get past Wake Forrest, this will setup a game with huge BCS implications. The fans in Lincoln have been waiting for a game like this for several years now. The men of Troy will have their hands full dealing with the Cornhuskers' and their rabid fans. I'm predicting a big upset here with Nebraska winning in a shootout. But everytime I pick against USC they usually win by 40.
Week 4
Texas A&M at Miami(Fla)(Thurs. 9/20)
Not a whole lot of great games this week but I'm going with the non-traditional matchup of the Aggies vs. the 'Canes. With a new coach, Miami could get out to a fast start to begin the season. This game may signal where 'THE U" program is headed in the near future.
Honorable Mention: Iowa at Wisconsin
Week 5
Alabama at Florida State(Sat. 9/29)
This is such a unique matchup and by the 5th week of the season this could either be a huge matchup of two unbeaten teams or two teams that are mightly struggling. As a Razorback fan, I'm hoping for the latter.
Week 6
Florida at LSU(Sat. 10/6)
Sorry about all the SEC teams but college football doesn't get any better than this. Probably two of the most athletically gifted teams in the entire nation will face off on a Saturday night in Death Valley. The noise level in Death Valley has registered on the Richter scale before and this night's game will be no different. I'm getting excited about this game already and it's still over 2 months away.
Week 7
Oregon State at California(Sat. 10/13)
This game would be a great game to watch except for the fact that you can never find a PAC-10 team on TV(besides USC). Nevertheless, the winner of this game will still be in the hunt for the Rose Bowl along with the Trojans. The loser probably can hope for the Holiday Bowl at best.
That's all for now, weeks 8 through 14 coming up in a couple of days.

Post a CommentSorry but I'm just not a big believer in Penn St. chances to win the Big Ten.
How about Penn State going into the Big House and stomping all over Michigan in week 4?! That'll have more of an impact on the Big Ten race than Iowa-Wisconsin.
