Benihana
Benihana is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is in a very good location near town, and would make for a great place to have dinner for a couple, family, or a big group of people. The atmosphere in this Japanese restaurant is fun and festive, it's almost as if you watching an entertaining show while you eat. Benihana's has various Hibachi chefs who are constantly flinging steak, shrimp, chicken, as well as other types of food around the table, while your food is prepared right in front of you. They definitely do a good job of entertaining and making the experience fun. The staff is very friendly and they do a great job serving good food and drinks. They have tons of choices ranging from seafood, chicken, steak, and sushi. Each entrée comes with various sides such as rice, onion soup, veggies, and lettuce, among others. Benihana's prices are quite high compared to other Japanese restaurants in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The cost of their entrees, on average, range anywhere from 21-30 dollars, but if you are looking for great Japanese food to go along with awesome entertainment, I would recommend that you have dinner at Benihana.
Japanica
Japanica is a Japanese restaurant that everyone should take the time to visit, not only residents of Milwaukee, but also visitors. Japanica is just blocks from downtown Milwaukee. The atmosphere of this restaurant is very comforting and calm, and you feel very welcome and wanted as soon as you step in the door . The food is authentic, and you can tell in the way that the food tastes that they have used high quality ingredients and have taken their time when preparing their food. Japanica has been around for a number of years, and I can definitely see them being around for many many more. Their dining room is set in a very peaceful setting, and you will be relaxed once you sit down and start eating their delicious food. The various dishes on their menu include: sushi, chicken, beef, steak, and shrimp, among other traditional Japanese dishes. They also have Hibachi chefs, like Benihana, that prepare your food right in front of you, and at the same time provide you with an amusing show. This Japanese restaurant in Milwaukee would be a great pick for anyone looking to have a fun night filled with great food and entertainment for not very much money. The entrees at Japanica range from 10-25 dollars.
Nanakusa Japanese Restaurant
This Japanese restaurant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is almost like a little piece of Japan in the middle of Milwaukee. Nanakusa is housed in a somewhat small building, but that is not a bad thing. The atmosphere in this restaurant is cozy, relaxing, and quiet. You can have a nice relaxing dinner here, and leave all your stress at the door. The restaurant is covered wall to wall in Japanese decorations, making Nanakusa's very charming and festive. The service here is satisfactory, but not excellent. They are a little slow, but this is not a huge negative. On the other hand, their food is great! They have a broad range of sake, and they serve only the highest quality meats, sushi, seafood, and produce in the area. They also use high quality ingredients when preparing their dishes. But, this high-quality food does not come cheap, on average their entrees can cost anywhere from 20-40 dollars, and in my opinion the portions are quite small compared to other Japanese restaurants in Milwaukee. Also, another negative is that their various meals do not include rice; you must order that separately, while other Japanese restaurants in Milwaukee include rice for free with your entrée. I would recommend Nanakusa Japanese restaurant to anyone looking for high-quality food, and at the same time does not mind paying a high price for it!
Noodles & Company
Noodles & Company is a unique Japanese Restaurant located in central Milwaukee. Noodles & Company is family and kid-friendly. The atmosphere is full of fun and excitement, but at times can be a bit loud due to their hard surfaced walls, floors and ceilings. Service is fast and friendly, making the experience of dining at Noodles & Company a little better. They have a variety of traditional Japanese dishes on their menu, but they are best known and unique for their menu consisting of all-things pasta, hence the restaurants name. They have a variety of noodles and pastas such as linguine, Japanese pan noodles, and spicy peanut salad, among others. You do have the option of adding steak, chicken, beef, or seafood to your pasta entrée for a few extra dollars. The food is good, but not of that great of quality compared to some other Japanese restaurants in Milwaukee, but you get what you pay for. All pasta dishes are served in a very traditional Japanese porcelain white bowl. If you do not feel like dining in, they also have the option of carry out, so you can take their delicious food home to eat. Their prices are very reasonable compared to other Japanese restaurants in Milwaukee. It is very realistic that you could feed a family for less than 30 dollars here, due to their low costs and huge portions.
Izumi's Restaurant
Izumi's restaurant was recommended to me by a friend, and I'm very glad that he suggested this Japanese restaurant to me. This place is great! They are located in very nice and convenient spot in Milwaukee, Wisconsin not far from downtown. This place is probably best-known for its superb sushi, but they also have a numerous other Japanese dishes that are out of this world, especially their desserts! This place is usually packed, especially on the weekends, so I suggest you make reservations. Izumi's is decorated with various items from Japan, and the atmosphere here is quite soothing and calming. The staff is very friendly and fast, I never had to wait for my soda to be refilled and they were always quick to ask if I needed anything. Their food was amazing, I had the sushi, but they also had a wide selection of entrees that included fish, chicken, steak, vegetables, shrimp, as well as other varieties of sushi. They have two desserts in particular that are worth trying and those are the Green Tea Ice Cream and the Mochi Ice Cream, both were new to me and very delicious. The prices were also quite reasonable compared to other Japanese restaurants in the Milwaukee area, with the costs ranging anywhere from 12-30 dollars. Izumi's restaurant will make for a great experience, and I absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a relaxing dinner consisting of excellent staff, fantastic food, and a quiet atmosphere.
Ichiban Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar
Ichiban Japanese restaurant is located close to central Milwaukee. This Japanese restaurant is located in a small building, probably no more than 30-40 people can be seated in this restaurant at one time. But, this small dining room only adds to the charm, and making it have an inviting and cozy atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this Japanese restaurant to smaller groups such as couples, or small families, because this restaurant has very few, if any, bigger tables that would help to accommodate larger groups . Some of their popular dishes include sushi, steak, chicken, shrimp, and fish based entrees each accompanied with rice and various vegetables. Their entrees usually come in large portions, so it is very realistic for 2 or more people splitting one entree. The cost of the food at Ichibans is reasonably priced compared to other Japanese restaurants in Milwaukee. Each entree can range anywhere from 10-30 dollars. Reasonably priced Japanese food in Milwaukee is a good reason for someone to choose to have dinner at Ichiban Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar.
