The Best Johnny Depp Fan Sites

Stormy Malone
Johnny Depp fan sites come and go, but a few will stand the test of time. Having been a fan for years, I've gotten to know the bio of Depp as well as I know my own(sad but true); if it's pics and facts you want, most fan sites will do just fine. If you'd like a site with meat on its bones, however, you might both of the following:

Johnny Depp Reads:

By far my favorite, www.JohnnyDeppReads .com does indeed spend a fair amount of time discussing what Johnny Depp reads. Depp fans know their hero to be intellectually insatiable and astute. The fan site's mission statement, if you will, states:

"This fan site is dedicated to two time Academy Award nominee Johnny Depp. We honor his love of books and the written word as well as his artistry and talent in films as an actor, director and producer."

Features of particular interest on johnnydeppreads.com are author interviews.

Listed are:

The Ginger Man by J.P. Donleavy
The Libertine by Stephen Jeffreys
Pirates of the Carribbean - Jason Surrell
A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby
Inamorata by Joseph Gangemi
Ed Wood - Larry Karaszewski

All authors have written works Johnny Deppp has starred in, will star in or is producing through his production company Infinitum Nihil.

Johnny Depp Reads has in depth information on Johnny & The Children's Hospice, Children's Hospice & Palliative Care Coalition and the JDR Book Project

The message boards are some of the best celebrity boards around with a great deal of first hand reporting and inside track tidbits. Clearly the caretakers of this blog site (mainly "Karen") honor Depp with civility and sophistication, although members have been known to squeal occasionally when a great photo comes along.

The owner and moderator, Karen, makes the following introductory remarks to newcomers:

"We request that in as much as Johnny Depp Reports and Johnny Depp Reads respects the wishes of Mr. Depp, that no unauthorized images of any kind of his children be posted or linked here. Please take a minute to read our JDR guidelines.

We have 5 moderators here ready to help anyone with a question.

Let me add this as a method of clarification, JDR is a privately owned, membership based fan board. I own it. I can and do control it's availability for anyone, member or not, to read. You do not have to be a registered member to "lurk" or simply read what we are saying here. However, to post anything, you need to be a registered member. We do not, as of this date, have any *members only* areas because I don't want to exclude anyone. There is no cost to you the lurker, or you the member to read or post on JDR. And as of this date I have not closed, refused or revoked membership to anyone."

If you are a reader in search of a book club, as well as a Depp fan, www.johnnydeppreads.com is for you.

A more typical fan site, but a great one for browsing nevertheless, is www.ohjohnny.net.
Did you know there are 344 days till Sweeney Todd, 160 days till POTC 3, 732 days till Shantaram, 943 days till RexMundi. You do now, thanks to ohjohnnyy.net.

Ohjohnny.net carries the most current times and dates for TV appearances, upcoming events and future Johnny Depp plans. And the photos? As Donnie Brasco would say, Fuhgedaboutit!

When it comes to pure eye candy, the best Johnny Depp fan site is Ohjohnny.net.

Enjoy!

it is not very objective to praise your own site to the sky.

JDR is intelligent and has solid, reliable information. Good source if you're writing a Depp article.

JDR really is the most informative site about Johnny Depp. I especially love the book discussions that reveal that Johnny Depp is not only a brilliant actor, but well read, too.
