Recently I had the desire to go out and do some karaoke, but I realized that I could not find a comprehensive list of where to go for karaoke in this area. I began to compile my own list of karaoke bars to make it easier for myself, and for others to locate exactly what they are looking for when it comes to karaoke bars in Memphis, TN and the surrounding area.
Alfred's is located at 197 Beale Street in downtown Memphis. Beale street is a famous street filled with the wonderful sounds of the good old Memphis Blues music. These sounds float out from a variety of bars and restaurants located there. How cool would it be to have your own voice floating down the same street as many other famous voices have through out the years.
You will find Backstreet at 2018 Court Avenue in Midtown Memphis. Backstreet is a dance club that also offers karaoke on specific nights of the week.
The Fox & The Hound is a sports bar and grill, not exactly the spot you would think to find karaoke. However, you will find karaoke in this sports bar! They are located at 847 Exocet Drive in Cordova, TN, a suburb of Memphis.
Jordan's Karaoke Cafe & Sports Grill is located in another suburb of Memphis called Bartlett at 5806 Stage Rd. A very family friendly location to find karaoke!
Marlowe's Ribs & Restaurant is also found on a famous street in Memphis, Elvis Presley Boulevard. Yes, Elvis Presley did once live on this very street! Plus, the BBQ in Memphis is almost guaranteed to be phenomenal!
Morrie's Tavern can be found in Millington, another suburb of Memphis, on Easley Street.
Pappy's Oyster Bar is another karaoke location in Bartlett, however this bar is on Whitten Road. Not to mention, they serve oysters. You can't go wrong with karaoke and oysters in the same place!
The Sports Bar Bar & Grill on South Mendenhall in Memphis is a wonderful place. Full of many regular customers, everyone makes sure to look out for one another and support each others performances.
Willie Moffatt's is not only a great restaurant, it is also a karaoke location in Bartlett, found on Whitten Road.
However, the place I heard the most about when it comes to karaoke in Memphis is Windjammer. They have karaoke, bar food, and darts. Something for everyone!
Now for my guide to where to go for karaoke on every night of the week!

However, any night of the week is a great night for karaoke!

Post a CommentAll of you are so wrong. The best place for karaoke is Yosemite Sam's. It has been an Overton Square establishment for over 35 years. They have a great collection of music, good bar food and the atmosphere is the best in town. CHECK IT OUT!
I live in Memphis and have attempted to go to the Superior Bar on Beale St. The obviousness of the racism there is embarrassing. Although they boast a staff of 50% black people, they have a policy of not allowing rap during early hours of karaoke, from 9pm til about midnight. Yes, the host looks black, but he is under orders most nights not to let people sing any black music, unless it's motown... even then, you may be pushing it if you don't look like you're gonna spend a lot of money. They cater to gypsies, white people, and a few black people. The manager russian guy, is the worst. he's more racist than anyone and is not afraid to grab us by the head and throw us out if you have a complaint that he doesn't like.
The Backdour Club, at 302 S. Avalon in West Memphis, Arkansas has karaoke every Monday, Thursday and Saturday nights. Karaoke starts at 9:00 p.m. til 5:00 a.m.
Just so you all know, Jordan's is now closed. And we miss it.
Next time I get to Memphis, I'll be singing!
I can't wait to try out Jordan's!!
