So, you want to save as much money as you can while shopping online? Here are some of the secrets that can help you to do just that.
Accepting spam from online vendors
If you're an online shopper, it's key that you get a personal account with your favorite online store and let the online vendor know you'd like to receive coupons and promotional offers via email. Sure, it may seem like you're asking for someone to send you a bunch of junk mail, but in reality, you'll be notified of sales and clearance items before anyone else is. That way, the online vendor won't run out of your size.
Another advantage of getting an account with an online vendor is the coupons you'll receive via email. Often, these coupons will give you free shipping on items and discounts of up to 20% or more.
Getting the jump on coupon codes.
And with online shopping, you shouldn't worry about expired coupon codes or even online vendors that seem to never give out coupons. You can find your own coupons for your favorite online stores. Here's how to do it: You go to google.com and type in the name of your favorite online store. Then, add a plus sign after the name and type in the phrase "coupon codes." You'll be surprised at what you find. You'll see people saying things like "As of such and such date, code number 544 worked for this store, and I got free shipping with G17." There are tons of websites that make it their job to research coupon codes for different online merchants.
And often if you received a coupon in your email a while back, you may think it's expired by now. But guess again, a lot of times the coupons you think are expired, actually will still work while you shop online.
Lastly, a bit of advice.
To get my wardrobe up-to-date, I plan to shop online for at least one item each payday. That's easy to afford if I use the best-kept secrets of online shopping. Of course, there's always the advice to never buy anything full-price because it will always go on sale. And something I use to keep my from buying on impulse is the "waiting factor." I think to myself that if I gotta have that now, surely next month something else will come out that I just gotta have also. That kind of thinking keeps my credit card bills down.
