Explore Greater Portland, a region of exciting possibilities on the south coast of Maine!
Whatever your budget, you will find the perfect setting for your visit. You can choose from sophisticated urban settings, elegant coastal resorts, rustic lakeside cabins or romantic bed & breakfasts. No matter what lodgings you prefer you will enjoy traditional New England hospitality.
Some of my favorite sites and attractions are listed below with contact information.

Purchase interesting items in unique gift Shop. Trains run weekends Feb. 19th - Dec 30th. Train daily mid May - mid October. Steam Train Holiday Weekends and Special Occasions. Museum open daily - 10am - 4pm. Adults - $10.00. Children 3 - 12 $6.00. Seniors - $9.00. Children 2 & Under - Free. 58 Fore St, Portland 04104 - 207 828-0814 - www.mngrr.org
2. Fort Williams - Fort Williams is one of the most treasured sites of Cape Elizabeth. Home to the oldest lighthouse in Maine, Portland Head Light, Fort Williams has become a place of tourism, recreation, and leisure time enjoyment. Welcoming nearly a million visitors a year, it is not surprising to see people on any given day of the year enjoying the playing fields, tennis courts, beach, or simply walking around the park.
3. Visitors find it difficult to imagine among the rolling hills and rambling brooks at the end of Desert Rd. there is a Desert. Once you take your first step through the gift shop's front door, however, your doubts will vanish as you enter the vast and sandy DESERT of MAINE. The owners welcome you to a very unusual experience and they will do everything they can to make your visit a pleasant and informative one. (207) 865-6962
4. Greater Portland Landmarks - Come hear the mysterious, amazing and amusing inside stories as you explore Portland's history and architectural treasures in the historic Old Port, now a bustling retail center. Greater Portland Landmarks' guides will take you on a stroll through the Old Port Monday - Saturday at 10:30am. Tours last 60-90 minutes and depart from the Convention and Visitors Bureau, 245 Commercial Street. Phone (207) 774 5561.

Post a CommentI remember spending a few days on Old Orchard Beach a few years ago. The area really hadn't changed too much in years by the look of it, and the cabins that people had for rent were fairly antiquated. It's a lovely area of the country for sure.
