1. Tattoo Camo is a wonderful product. It is my favorite and the one I am recommending as your first choice in cover up makeup. It contains two parts, the Camouflage Paste and Setting Powder. To apply it you simply rub the paste over an area larger than the tattoo to create a "canvas". Then reapply to the tattoo area only. A makeup brush can help you be more exact. Then you brush on the Setting Powder and you are done. Very easy and it is water resistant. You still may find that some of the product rubs of. This will happen with any makeup. It should last you the whole day without having to reapply it.
2. Smart Cover is also a very good product. It is similar to Tattoo Camo and does about as good of a job. It is a very close runner up to my top pick. It is applied in the same way as my first choice. It is really not much different than Tattoo Camo. It just depends on your specific skin type. The Tattoo Camo product offers more choices for skin shades. If your skin is not naturally red toned the Smart Cover may work for you.
3. Dermablend also works well. You need to get the Leg and Body Cover Creme foundation in order to cover a tattoo. Don't forget the Setting Powder! Any product that does not have this is guaranteed to smudge easily. This product takes a little longer to apply then my first two choices but it is still fairly simple. Directions on how to apply can be found on the website. Check my sources for all the websites of the products. Dermablend is great because they have the most shades of all my choices!
4. ColorTration makes a decent product. They allow you to get a six shade package for $16.00. That way you can find the exact shade for you without investing a lot of money. This is great if you are on a budget. You will need the ColorTration Super Concealing Liquid Makeup and the ColorTration Barrier Spray. You will apply the same way as described in my first choice but instead of the setting powder you will use the barrier spray. Very simple to apply.
5. If you are really on a budget or need something super fast. Go to your local drug store and find a full coverage concealer in your shade. Pick up a full coverage powder and a good brush. Go home and apply as described earlier . It will not work as well as the professional products and will smear easily but good in pinch.
I hope these ideas are helpful for whatever you need to cover your tattoo for! Good luck!
