Where to Go for the Best Mexican Food in Colorado Springs

Located at 222 Tejon Street in Colorado Springs, Colorado is Jose Muldoon's Mexican Restraunt. Downtown and directly across the street from beautiful Acacia Park is the Mexican-American Cantina. It was named after the legendary but fictional bandito Jose Muldoon. The menu at Jose Muldoon's is of traditional burritos, fajitas, enchiladas, chili rellenos, and many other south of the border favorites. The menu does not ignore the vegetarian in you; there are many great vegetarian dishes available also.

You can dine inside, at the tables on the sidewalk out front or the umbrella-lined back patio. No matter where you care to sit, visiting Jose Muldoon's is never complete without one of the house specialty margaritas. They set the Guinness World record on their 25th anniversary by creating the world's largest margarita. You can see the official Guinness Record Certificate in the lobby when you enter.

The sidewalk seating gives you a great view of Acacia Park where something is always going on. While waiting on your meal or as a meal itself you can try one of their great appetizers of stuffed quesadilla, guacamole salad, chili con queso or nachos, fresh vegetable dip or Buffalo wings.

Some of the dinner specials include the following terrific Mexican dishes such as Chilli Rellenos, which consists of

Two Anaheim chiles stuffed with Monterey Jack Cheese fried in beer batter and served with green chiles, Mexican rice and refried beans.

For the vegetarian in you one of the house specialties is Vegetable Topolobampo, sautéed seasonal vegetables and guacamole wrapped in a flour tortilla and toped with shredded cheese and warm salsa. It is finished with a topping of guacamole and sour cream. Jose Muldoon's is the place to go while in Colorado Springs for great Mexican food. Whether it is a night out or a Sunday brunch this is the place for you.

Having lived in California, Arizona, and New Mexico, I consider myself a connoisseur of Mexican food, and I am NOT impressed with Jose Muldoon's. While the decor and atmosphere is nice, the food is very Americanized and, in my opinion, pretty bland. By the way, it's restaurant, not "restraunt."

My husband and I visited your On The Border restraunt in Victorville,CA on 3/08/2008 . We both ordered the endless enchilada meal . We waited a long long time for the food then when they brought it they told us that they were out of the brown sauce and asked what we would like to put on them . The food was very cold . We were very hungry so we ate half of what they brought to us . My bill was 19.37 . When I complained to the manager he offered nothing , not even an appology . The owner of this restraunt should visit his restraunt to see how it is being managed . Lots of people want to know what the restraunt offers to do about it . Thank You ,
