They began as mere acquaintances in their late teens, with Chandler being only the college roommate of Ross, Monica's brother. He was better known as "the boy who hates Thanksgiving". We never learn how Chandler comes to live across the hall from Monica, but over the years they become friends and, eventually, fall in love. Even before the fateful night in London, they are there for each other. Chandler for Monica when it's over with Richard and Monica for him when things ended with Kathy. They were there for each other on a difficult night for both when Ross was marrying Emily. That relationship was short lived, but the bond between Monica and Chandler continued to grow. We saw them go from a purely physical relationship, to realizing they were in love, to engagement and marriage. We saw them struggle as they tried to become parents only to learn that the only way it would happen for them was adoption. We saw them go through the struggles of becoming adoptive parents and finding a place to live outside the city and, finally, we saw them with their twins, their family complete.
These are the top ten videos for Monica and Chandler, found on YouTube.
10. This video by lily10000 uses the unforgettable duet between Nat King Cole and his daughter, Natalie Cole. The video itself is okay, but gets mentioned here because the song is just perfect. Many of the stills used are fan art from another website. These are stills from the show as well as promotional material of the couple edited by fans. There are also an abundance of stills from the show. The video can be found at: youtube.com/watch
9. "What I Like About You" is the song for this video by littleblondie99. Stills of Chandler and Monica are transitions with a heart between every one. The video can be found at: youtube.com/watch
8. The song "Out of Nothing at All" by Air Supply provides the background for some favorite clips chronicling Monica and Chandler's journey. How they took what started as almost animosity (when they were first introduced over Thanksgiving) and turned into friendship and, eventually, into love. The video by hatenessxo can be found at: youtube.com/watch
7. This video, set to Bon Jovi's "Born to Be My Baby", uses stills from the show and promotional shots to show us how these two work together. The shots used go well with the words of the song and is a 'must watch' for 'Mondler' fans. It is by gin2ynia and can be found at: www.youtube.com/watch
6. The song "You Make Me Love You More" is the background for this video about Monica and Chandler. It was made by svchlarker4ever, who used clips from the show to take us through the relationship showing us how each of them made them love each other even more than they had before. The video can be found at: youtube.com/watch
5. "Kiss Me" is a video by sugarbear17. She takes the song by Sixpence None the Richer and includes virtually every kiss by our favorite couple. Not every clip has a kiss in it, but every 'kiss me' in the song has a very well timed smooch. It is a fun song and the video goes well with it. It can be found at: youtube.com/watch
4. "Some hearts just get lucky sometimes." This video by Punchline101 uses Carrie Underwood's song "Some Hearts" to show us how sometimes, some people, some hearts, get lucky and things work out the way they are supposed to. Mostly made up of stills from the show, there are also promotional shots and photos from both on and off set, showing us the chemistry these two had even when not in character. The video can be found at: www.youtube.com/watch
3. This video is to the song "Secret Garden" by Bruce Springsteen. Missssso uses three scenes from the show, interspersed with stills to show us how well these two work together. It opens with the proposal from the end of Season 6, followed by stills over the years. The next clip is from Season 1. While at the hospital waiting for Carol to give birth to Ben, Monica declares that she wants a baby. Chandler offers to make a 'back-up' pact with her - if neither are married by 40, they'll get together and have one. It is a bittersweet moment, knowing what we know now, about the trouble the two would have conceiving in later seasons. After more stills, the scene from Season 7 where Monica and Chandler discuss their future is played. Chandler talks about how many kids they were going to have and the cat with the little bell. Monica makes one of the most profound statements of the series. She doesn't need a big wedding, she wants everything he just said - she wants a marriage. More stills finish out the video. It can be found at: youtube.com/watch
2. In a comedy like "Friends" it's easy to overlook the dramatic love story between these two. The video, to "Crazy for You" by Madonna, reminds us that theirs is a timeless love story between a man and a woman. The tag line put out by louiselanekent is "Chandler is crazy about Monica". I'm just old fashioned enough to get teary eyed and sappy at scenes where a man takes care of and comforts the woman in his life. This is seen as strongly in the Season 9 and 10 scenes where the two have trouble conceiving and then potential problems with the adoption process. You can see in Chandler's eyes how crazy he is for Monica and how he would do anything to take away the pain and problems. While not the focus of the video, this is what jumped out at me while watching it, moving it rather high on my top ten list. The video can be found at: youtube.com/watch
1. Hatenessxo uses Nick Lachey's "What's Left Of Me" to take us through a chronological journey (regardless of the season the information was given in) through the relationship of Monica and Chandler. The video starts with the 1980s Thanksgiving where they first meet. He calls her fat and, in a sense, changes her life. The next shot is the next Thanksgiving followed by the scene from "The One That Could Have Been" where he tells her she's the most beautiful woman he's ever known in real life. Though the producers have said they never intended for a relationship to come out of that moment in the Season 4 finale - it was supposed to be a one time thing that changed with fan approval of the potential relationship - it is amazing that the set up can be seen in the first four seasons, before it was really even a concept in their minds. It continues to London, hiding their relationship, coming clean, engagement, marriage and, finally, adoption of twins. A short recap of stills is used and then vows from their wedding. An excellent video, it can be found at: youtube.com/watch
