Hogs and Heifers
Hogs and Heifers may be a chain bar with locations all over the country, but it still makes the list of one of the best neighborhood bars in Manhattan. Similar to the Coyote Ugly bartenders, the staff at Hogs and Heifers were skimpy clothing, dance and serve drinks using flashy hand movements. Unlike the copycat Coyote Ugly, Hogs and Heifers is spacious enough to allow guests to have a good time. In fact, many female guests have such a good time that they leave their bras behind, all of which are displayed above the bar. For a one-of-a-kind experience in a true neighborhood bar in Manhattan, visit Hogs and Heifers in the heart of the Village.

When I lived in NYC, neighborhood bars were like homes away from home. If I wanted to visit some friends, I knew they'd be at "their" bars at certain times. I have never experienced that anywhere else.
Next time I'm in NY I will definitely try one of these places.
Sounds like some fun places!
Good info!
Nice reviews. We didn't have time to visit any bars in Manhattan, but we did find a great Indian Restaurant, Spice Fusion off Time Square.
