My personal favorite casino off of the Las Vegas Strip would be Sunset Station located in Henderson, NV. It is owned and operated by Station Casinos, a major chain that owns 8 casinos in the Las Vegas area. It is very clean and beautiful inside. The ceiling is painted like the sky, it is absolutely gorgeous. It was voted one of the best players clubs around. They have so many promotions and deals you will save some significant money playing at this casino. The buffets is one of the best in town, and about half of the price you will pay for a buffet at any casino on the strip.
Another great casino to visit is the Silverton Casino just south of the Las Vegas Strip. This is one of the casinos you can bring your whole family. It is connected to Bass Pro Shops and the theme for the casino is outdoors. While you play your favorite slot machines, your family can browse the store or just hang out at it 117,000 gallon aquarium.
South Point casino is located just south of the Las Vegas strip and is also fun for the whole family. They have a great bowling alley and movie theater as well as a wonderful casino. If you plan to stay at South Point, plan to stay in luxury. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous and quite affordable as well. They have plasma televisions in each of the hotel rooms, you will almost want to stay in your room all evening. The casino is quite large and offers a variety of slot games in all denominations. They also have a large area for poker, if you would rather play cards.
The last of my favorite casinos in the Las Vegas area that are located off strip is Green Valley Ranch casino located in Henderson, NV. It is also part of the Station Casinos group. It offers a huge casino floor with plenty of slot options, and plenty of great food options as well. The buffet and restaurants are a little expensive, but are well worth the money you pay. They offer the same benefits in their players card as Sunset Station does, because they are owned and operated by the same company. I recommend picking up one of their free players cards, as everyone will benefit to it. The hotel rooms are a little more expensive, but are quite nice.
There are quite a few nice casino is the Las Vegas area that are not on the strip. If you are planning a trip to the Las Vegas area I recommend that you rent a car so that you can travel the town and see some of the casinos in the area.
