The Best OIA Airport Food

Orlando International Airport Review

During your travels you may find yourself spending a great deal of time in airports while waiting for your flight to take off. This allows you the time to experience the best and the worst foods that airports have to offer. I have had the pleasure of experiencing both kinds of food during my travels.

The larger the airport, the greater the chances of finding great airport meals during your wait. Orlando Internal Airport (OIA) is a great example of a large airport that has plenty of restaurants to satisfy your hunger -- there is certainly no shortage in choices. There are full-size chain restaurants as well as fast food joints. OIA is so large that the airport is broken into two sections, Side A and Side B. There are even trains that bring you back and forth from the terminal areas. Restaurants throughout the airport are located on both sides, as well as past the security check point in the terminal areas. Look for an information sign to see where restaurants are located or visit guest services to get an airport map.

If you have the time to sit down for a meal, the best place to eat is Romano's Macaroni Grill. If you are not familiar with this restaurant, you should definitely take the time to try it out. The restaurant is located in the main airport area on side B. The best part of this restaurant, besides its food, is its atmosphere. The restaurant staff is friendly and it's always hustling and bustling. I like to order is the Mushroom Ravioli that is priced at $12. These raviolis are stuffed with mushrooms and are covered with a delicious cream sauce. You definitely won't be disappointed! Just make sure you have enough time to eat and get through security before your flight takes off.

If you are in a hurry and only have a small amount of time to eat, then a fast-food restaurant is your best option. There is plenty to choose from -- the main airport area has McDonnald's, Chik-Fil-A, Quiznos, Sbarro and much more. If you have already passed through the security check point, then you will find food courts in your terminal area. You'll even find a full-size Outback Steakhouse in the terminal area for Gates 60-99.

No matter what you're in the mood for, OIA will have something for you. Have fun during your travels and take the time to explore, you'll even see a Hilton hotel right located right inside the airport.
