Eddie's Sweet Shop is about as Old Fashioned as you can get. How many restaurants have you heard of that can say they still make homemade ice cream? Eddie's Sweet shop is a true classic and the customers who go to Eddie's sweet shop always come back for its great taste. Even more memorable than the homemade ice cream and enormous scoops of ice cream that they give you is the hot fudge they pour onto your ice cream. The hot fudge is also homemade, as are all of the ingredients used at Eddie's sweet shop.
The ambiance is very unique and well represented of a little kids store with teddy bears and kids toys scattered by the window sills. There is a long wooden counter top where the employees serve customers ice cream. Most customers enjoy sitting at the counter stools and there are also about half a dozen booths in the restaurant to accommodate customers. On a busy Friday or Saturday night, you might have to wait upwards of half an hour in order to be seated and served.
Eddie's has just about every ice cream flavor you could ask for, minus the rare and awful experimental flavors offered at Baskin Robbins. Eddie's is famous for its toppings on its ice cream like its hot fudge, butterscotch, butter pecan and homemade whipped cream. Ice cream drinks are also a specialty which included shakes, ice cream sodas, and egg creams. It's so much fun watching the employees at Eddie's make the ice cream right in front of you. You can absolutely taste the difference between the homemade ice cream and ingredients used at Eddie are compared to your generic ice cream store.
Its sad how old fashioned ice cream stores like Eddie's have gone out of business over the years, in favor of more modern ice cream stores like Baskin Robbins and Coldstone Creamery. Eddie's plays soft 80s music in the background and customers love to just sit down and enjoy eating their ice cream.
Eddie's Sweet shop is exactly that. When you eat there you shouldn't be worrying about your weight or how fattening the ice cream is that you are eating. Just savor the moment and experience of eating in an old fashion ice cream parlor and go along for the ride.
