Skincare has always been an important factor in my life. I believe that in order to have beautiful skin, you must take care of it religiously. So, it would come as no surprise that during my pregnancy; I used the belly balm like there was no tomorrow. Although many skin care experts claim that slathering on Shea or Cocoa butter on your ever expanding belly is ineffective; I beg to differ. At nine months pregnant and counting, I still have yet to see stretch mark on my belly. Here are some of the products I have tried and recommend.

All the Stretch Mark Creams or Oils I personally recommend are Certified Organic and non-toxic. It was very important to me that during my pregnancy, the beauty products that I used contained the most natural ingredients. The purpose being to be least exposed to chemicals as much as possible. Since skincare is not regulated by the FDA, I believe it to be vitally important to know the ingredients that are listed on the products you use. With the recent controversy of chemicals contained in bath and body products such as Phthalates, Paraben, and other noxious chemicals, Organic is a safe alternative for your growing belly's need.

O'Baby Organic Mother's Baby Balm is made with essential oils of ylang ylang and tangerine together with cocoa butter. This nourishing balm contains no petrochemicals, parabens, synthetics, emulsifiers, or alcohols. No chemicals of any kind which means nothing to harm you or the baby. This balm slathers on thick and is very moisturizing to the belly. It has a wax like consistency that hydrates for hours. Some of the ingredients include Grapeseed oil, Beeswax, Wheat germ Oil along with the essential oils listed above. According to Baby Lush, All of the ingredients are hand harvested in an Organic farm in New Zealand and are hand made in small batches by qualified herbalists.

Erbaorganics Mommy to Be Stretch Mark Oil is a USDA certified Organic belly balm. Made with natural plant oils such as carrot seed, sunflower, and wheat oil, it is an herbal infused concoction that is incredibly soothing to your belly. Carrot seed oil in particular aids with elasticity, rosemary is a wonderful anti-oxidant, while organic lavender is relaxing as well as healing. This oil is probably best to use after the first trimester since the essential oils might acerbate morning sickness. They also have the cream version if you do not like the oily consistency.

Earth Mama Angel Baby Organic Body Butter was by far my favorite belly balm. The smell is so delicate and natural that it is even good to use during first trimester. This rich cream is vegan, toxic-free, and cruelty free meaning no animal testing was performed. The main ingredient is Shea butter along with organic calendula and organic chamomile. This Body Butter smells so good that I am tempted to use it even after my pregnancy.

There are so many products that are available when it comes to picking a belly butter to keep your stretch mark to a minimum. The three products I have listed above are the ones I have personally tried and enjoyed using. Although the products I have listed might be more expensive than the non-Organic belly balms, the chemical free and natural aspect of each stretch mark cream can off-set the price difference. Remember, when it comes to your and your baby's health, natural and chemical free life is the best one there is.
