Brooklyn is known as a Mecca for pizza. Some of the best pies in the country have originated from within this borough's confines. I've found a new one to add to the list.

Ortine at 622 Washington Ave. in Brooklyn is by far the cutest, homiest pizza place this glutton has been to in quite some time. The façade looks much like a regular pay-per-slice joint, but inside the small but cozy kitchen whips up an eclectic mix of pasta dishes and delectable personal-sized pizzas.

I was just there the other night and had their margherita and potato (yes, potato!) pizzas. Both were absolutely to die for.

They have some great outside seating as well, so you can escape to the quiet backyard complete with mature pine trees to while away a lazy summer day with great service; a great wine, beer and cocktail list; and some of the best pizza this wannabe foodie has had in a long time.
