The Best Pizza in Walnut Creek, California

California Sports and Travel Writer
Walnut Creek is a Bay Area community that is located twenty-five miles northeast of San Francisco. It is a shopping destination that also has countless dining options. If you are in the mood for pizza while visiting Walnut Creek, you are in luck. Walnut Creek has several restaurants to choose from that serve delicious pizza. Here are my favorite pizza places in Walnut Creek, California:

Pinky's Pizza Parlor: Before you even enter Pinky's, you will know they serve great pizza. From about one hundred feet away, you can smell Pinky's delicious pizzas baking in their pizza oven. Pinky's is a great neighborhood pizza place that has been around since 1963. It is popular with the locals and gets a lot of business from regular customers. Pinky's also has a bar that is separate from the pizza counter. When I first visited Pinky's Pizza Parlor, they had a chalkboard behind the bar that kept track of bar tabs. I've never seen such a thing and it immediately made me laugh. They no longer keep bar tabs on a chalkboard, but Pinky's still serves up great pizza. Pinky's Pizza Parlor is located at 1379 South California Boulevard in Walnut Creek.

Rocco's Pizzeria: If you like toppings on pizza, you will love Rocco's Pizzeria in Walnut Creek. Rocco's offers dozens of toppings, including specialty toppings like sun-dried tomatoes, prosciutto, and barbecue chicken. Rocco's pizza combos are more like a meal than just a pizza. Each slice is piled so high with toppings that it is easiest to eat it with a fork and knife. Rocco's Pizzeria also serves many pasta dishes and authentic Italian specialties. Rocco's Pizzeria is located at 2909 Ygnacio Valley Road in Walnut Creek.

New York Pizza: Yes, it is possible to get New York style pizza in California. For a taste of New York in Walnut Creek, head over to New York Pizza at 1428 Locust Street. New York Pizza serves great thin crust pizza that is served just as it is in the Big Apple. And if you are busy like a New Yorker, they even deliver. New York Pizza is open late seven days a week, because Walnut Creek is the city that never sleeps.

Skipolini's Pizza: Much like Rocco's Pizzeria, Skipolini's also specializes in toppings. Skipolini's Pizza has all the standard toppings, plus exotic choices like pineapple, zucchini, and linguica. Skipolini's Pizza offers many specialty pizzas that are loaded with toppings and very tasty. Skipolini's Pizza is located at 1535 Giammona Drive in Walnut Creek. If you prefer, they can also deliver.

Extreme Pizza: If you are in the mood for pizza, but want something a little bit different, try Extreme Pizza in Walnut Creek. Extreme Pizza serves signature pizzas with catchy names, such as Pandora's Box, Drag it Through the Garden, and California Cactus. Extreme Pizza offers original pizza combinations that sound strange, but taste great. They also serve great Monster Subs, salads, and calzones. Extreme Pizza is located at 1630 Cypress Street in Walnut Creek, but they also deliver.

All of these pizza places in Walnut Creek are great. It is tough to choose my favorite because they are all so good. If I had to choose, I would say that Pinky's Pizza Parlor is the best because of the great pizza and the neighborhood feel to it. However, there is a lot of great pizza in Walnut Creek, and you can't go wrong at any of these places.
