Shaving in the shower prepares your face
You probably know that there are products out there that help to prepare your face before shaving. These pre-shave lotions help to soften your skin and hair and help you get a better shave. If you've ever gotten your face professionally shaven at a place like The Art of Shaving, you know they won't shave your face without pre-shave lotion. I definitely advocate the use of pre-shave lotion, but I don't use them myself. Why? It's just tough to go to the store and convince yourself that you need to spend that much money on it. If you're cheap like me, a great way to get the same benefit of pre-shave lotion without actually using it is by allowing the steam in a shower to do the same thing. The steam will open your pores, soften your skin and hair, and allow you to get a closer shave. This is a great benefit of shaving in the shower.
Shaving in the shower is easier and faster
Let's face it, shaving over the sink can sometimes get messy and it's a pain to deal with cleaning everything up. For the sake of your wife, try shaving in the shower. Throw your shaving cream on, slop it all over the shower, and shave away. Who cares about clean-up when the water brings all your mess down the drain? It's cleaner to shave in the shower. Plus, it's faster. You don't have to spend the time cleaning up the sink. You don't have to deal with rinsing, preparing, and putting things away. Your razor and shaving cream (I prefer a shaving cream like Trader Joe's Honey Mango shaving cream, which is perfect for the shower) all just go in your little shower caddy. It's out of the way, and it's clean and easy.
Shaving in the shower will reduce the amount of razor burn that you get because you're allowing the steam to prepare your face. Your wife will be happier because you don't leave little hairs all over the bathroom sink. And, you'll be happier because you won't have to spend as much time shaving. Listen guys, your wife shaves her legs in the shower, that should give you a hint that the shower is the place to shave.

Gosh I wish my husband would do this...I hate cleaning up the little hairs!
Haha- yes. If women do it, I don't know why more men don't.
My husband saved in the shower - until we moved to a new house and we have "city" water and have to pay for it....saving added 10 mins. to his shower time!
YES! I was sick and tired of the beard hair getting all over my bathroom counter. I got my husband a shower mirror. It's so much better when he shaves in the shower.
