The Best Places to Get Inexpensive Indoor Christmas Decorations

Jessica Ann
The other day I was cleaning out my attic because I swore that I did not need six large storage boxes of Christmas decorations. As I sorted through everything I had which consists of my "blue" Christmas decorations, then my "color" and lastly my "silver and gold" I realized I just couldn't get rid of very much. I think I managed to go from six boxes down to five, but that's because I have so much since I hit all the sales and bargain stores to get decorations. One of the absolute cheapest stores where you can find some great indoor holiday items is the Dollar Tree stores. This type of store may go be different names, another one being the Everything for a Dollar store or something similar. I am not talking about Dollar General, though you could probably find a few things there too, but I'm talking about the stores where every single item sells for only $1. It's not exactly decoration headquarters, but there are several things you can get here to start. You can get all your gift wrapping, bags and decorative boxes here. They also have lots of Christmas stockings which you can use for decoration or gift giving. Don't forget a myriad of ribbons and cards to put the finishing touches on your gifts. There are many adorable figurines to set around your home such as snowmen, santas and angles. You'll also find all sorts of candle holders geared towards the Christmas holiday. When everything is a dollar, it's easy to get lots of knick-knack decorations for very little money.

The next place I visit is BigLots because they always carry cheap holiday decorations. Last year I bought a four foot inflatable snowman for only $10 and a set of three animated, lighted yard reindeer for only $15. You'll find great deals on indoor and outdoor lights so that you can stock up and illuminate every nook and cranny of your home, inside and out. This is definitely the place to go for inexpensive artificial Christmas trees in all sizes, balloon yard art, lighted yard art, lighted window art such as snowflakes, santas and much more. Buy a plain and cheap fake wreath here and also get all the little baubles to decorate that with for under $2 each, such as a sprig of red berries, poinciana leaves, little shiny colored gift boxes and just about anything else you can think of to make your own personal beautiful wreath for your front door. It is much less expensive to get a little creative than to buy an already decorated wreath. Don't forget to stock up on wrapping paper, tags and ribbons here. Also check out there great array of table runners, hand towels, table cloths, door mats, candle holders and dishes all decorated for the Christmas spirit.

Some other options is to constantly watch for the sale ads at stores like Walgreens, CVS, K-Mart and Wal-Mart where you may be able to luck out on 2 for 1 deals for several indoor decorations. Lots of times you can get great deals on holiday lights for inside your home or on your tree, as well as wrapping paper, Christmas ornaments, stockings and more. Don't forget to check out your local garage sales as a lot of people will be getting rid of the old so they can get something new, which means real bargains on slightly used decorations.
