Just because you take a trip to Vegas, does not mean that you have to miss your home team's game. For many people that visit Las Vegas, it is important to find places other than their hotel room or the local sports book to watch their favorite team to play. As with any other city, Las Vegas is full of places to watch whatever your sport is. Here are some of the best.

Blondie's Sports Bar - This place offers the sports fan a piece of heaven. There are 35 plasma TVs located throughout to give you a high definition view of that football team or basketball team, which you can do while enjoying their full breakfast or traditional bar menu. One of the best specials offered is the Tuesday night all you can drink draft beer for the low price of $10. Blondie's Sports Bar is located in the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino (formerly The Aladdin).

ESPN Zone - There is only one word that can describe this place "HUGE". This two-story, 33,000 square foot facility that is broken up into three different areas. The viewing area is complete with two 14-foot TV screens, which are surrounded by 12 36-inch TVs. More than that, the booths that are a part of the Screening Room feature a 18" flat screen monitor that you are able to use to either watch a game or to surf one of many different sports oriented sites. New York New York is home to this sports fan's dream.

Le Bar du Sport - This has to be the most elegant sports bar that I have every laid eyes on. With dark hardwood and marble, I am almost positive you will say that same. Even though it looks different from what you would expect, it is a great place to enjoy a game or just a quick drink. You might ask the bartender to fix a specialty of the bar called an Area 51, or one of the other specialties drinks. This establishment is housed in the Paris Las Vegas Hotel.

Sports Deluxe - This is not your typical sports bar. This one is full of a bunch of lookers. It is obvious when you walk in here that most patrons are not interested in what the box score is for the third period of the Lakers - Heat game. However, for those that want to see for yourselves, it is definitely a place to see and be seen. Do not be surprised if it is standing room only. What other place would house such a feast for the eyes but The Hard Rock Hotel.

Pete & Shorty's Book and Bar - This has to be one of the most relaxed sports bars that I have seen. Open 24 hours, which is different from most of those mentioned in this article, the establishment has really good food to go with your favorite spirit. It is a wonderful place to hang out even if you are not a sports fan. There are 24 42-inch plasma TVs in this place. Enjoy! This one is located at Hooters Hotel on Tropicana.

Winning Streaks Bar & Grill - During football season they host a Monday Night Football Party. This is a really, good thing, seeing that many hotel rooms do not have ESPN and that is what is needed to see the nationally televised games. This has a great atmosphere and wonderful food and drink specials. This one is located at Harrah's Hotel on the Strip.

Tailgate Sports Lounge - The one entry on the list that is not located directly on the strip or within one of the hotels. This place is frequented by the locals and located on the East side of town. You go this place when you are not just there to pick up women or men for that matter. Want to involve yourself in some real sports talk; this is the place to go. Drink and beer special are plentiful. Tailgate is located at 255 E Flamingo Rd
Las Vegas, NV, 89169. Contact them at (702) 893-8933.
