The Best Power Forwards in the NBA for the 2010 Season

Chris Bosh Possibly the NBA's Most Underrated Player

The 2009-10 NBA season has displayed some of the most dynamic forwards fans have seen in a long while. Although the current NBA standings show very little surprises, statistics show a dramatic increase in scoring among power forwards. One power forward that quickly improved this season would be Toronto superstar Chris Bosh. He was always considered an efficient player among NBA analysts, but this year is supposed to be the year he has to prove himself among the league's elite. He has had his fair share of negative criticism by not only ESPN analysts, but NBA players too. According to an article found on www.realgm.com, Cleveland Cavaliers center called Bosh the Ru Paul of basketball. Though the comments made by the future Hall of Famer were hilarious, Bosh thought otherwise. In another surprising article published by Realgm Basketball, Bosh responded with displeasure for those comments and mentioned that he is sick and tired of rarely being mentioned as the elite from the draft class of 2003.

Another power forward under this season's radar is none other that future Hall of Famer Tim Duncan. Duncan currently plays for the Spurs and is likely to retire from that team. By the middle of this season, he will be turning 34 years old and that age would be considered by many as his final years of decent productivity, but Duncan has proven otherwise. You see, Tim Duncan has not shown any signs of decline in terms of his statistics. His rebounding and shot-blocking numbers are up compared to last season. The Spurs were struggling early on this season, but that is not necessarily a bad thing because they are very well known for those kinds of starts. By the time they reach the trade deadline, the Spurs will become one of the top three teams in the NBA (possibly behind Boston and Los Angeles). Tim Duncan will likely grab a spot in the All NBA first team when the season is wrapped up for the playoffs.

The last three power forwards on this list are Dirk Nowitzki, Antawn Jamison, and Amare Stoudemire. Two of the three are enjoying successful seasons with their teams winning most of their games. Unfortunately, Antawn Jamison is the one who is having an awesome year statistically, but a terrible year with his team. The Wizards are one of the worst teams in the NBA and the future for this ball club looks pretty dim since Gilbert Arenas is likely going to bail out on them by the end of the season. Anyway, both Stoudemire and Nowitzki are having great seasons, but can they dominate in the playoffs? Only time can tell.
