The Best Products for Any Hair Type

Finding the perfect product for your hair doesn't have to be complicated. In fact, it can be as simple as finding that one conditioner or that exact finishing crème that works perfectly with your hair type. Just keep in mind that what works on your friend's dry, split ends may not be enough to tame your frizzy out-of-control curls. Before you can even start looking for products, you have to determine what type of hair you have. Do you have split ends, dull hair, crazy curls, or uncontrollable frizz? Or perhaps your hair is oily and dry, both at the same time? Once you've determined your hair's behavior, take a look at these products for each hair type.

Products for frizzy hair. John Freida has a line of wonderful products designed for dry, frizzy hair to make it more manageable. John Freida Frizz-Ease products work wonders for curly, frizzy hair. Applying just a small amount can sometimes control frizzy hair all day. "Secret Weapon" is another great choice if you're having a bad hair day. The finishing creme can be applied directly to dry hair to tame the frizz. A cheaper alternative to the John Frieda line of frizz control products is Dove Frizz Control Therapy. This product is more affordable but still gets the job done.

Products for split ends. One of the biggest deterrents to silky hair is split ends. Luckily, if you have this hair type, there are a lot of products on the market made just for split ends. My favorites are Garnier Fructis products, especially their 3 minute masque. Try a few of these: Fructis Strength and Repair, Fructis Instant Melting conditioner, Aussie Cleanse and Mend shampoo and conditioner. Also, applying any restorative conditioner to your split ends will help to repair the damage and prevent further breakage.

Products for extra dry hair. There are a lot of moisturizing shampoos and conditioners on the market to help you with this problem but not all are equal in their effectiveness. Garnier Fructis has a lot of moisturizing conditioners that work extremely well. Neutrogena Triple Moisture products are a good choice and they are generally all around healthy for your hair. Pantene Pro-V Moisture Renewal shampoo and conditioner adds moisture to your hair to provide a shiny, salon-look and also has a great scent.

Products for dull hair. Dull hair prevents you from achieving that sleek, finished look so finding products that treat dull hair is essential when you have this hair type. Pantene Pro-V products seem to work best to bring out the natural shimmer of hair, and works especially well on dull hair. Try Pantene Pro-V Smooth Conditioner as well as experimenting with other Pantene products. Fructis Fortifying Shine Burst products are another great cure for dull hair and also help to add moisture. Aussie Protect and Soften and L'Oreal Vive Pro Hydra Gloss both add a beautiful glossy sheen to hide dull, boring hair.

Products for oily hair. For this hair type you definitely don't want to use a moisturizing product on your scalp. The key is to find a good shampoo that will clean your scalp of oily traces as well as moisturize the ends of your hair. Try Sunsilk Clarifying Volume Shampoo, it works well to remove excess oil but doesn't strip your hair of all moisture. If you have extra dry ends and an oily scalp, Aussie Cleanse & Mend is made just for you! It cleans your oily scalp but moisturizes your dry ends at the same time.

Knowing the best brands to work with your hair type is essential to healthy, beautiful hair. If you find that you have more than one type of hair, you can even mix and match hair products to find the best match for your hair. Experiment to find what works for you!
