With more restaurants than New York City, Dallas boasts hundreds of excellent dining options that are sure to please any palette, especially on Valentine's Day. Most restaurants have special offers and/or menus in honor of Valentine's Day, but many are not revealed until days before February 14th.

I have listed below just a sampling of the vast array of dining establishments in Dallas that will provide the ideal environment for a splendid Valentine's Day dinner.

The French Room
Enjoy a melt-in-your mouth French meal at The French room, located in the Adolphus Hotel. The Adolphus Hotel is located at 1321 Commerce Street in Dallas. The French Room has been named the #1 hotel restaurant in America by Zagat in 2008/2009. The Dallas Morning News gave The French Room five stars.

The French Room is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 6 to 10pm. The lounge is open Monday through Thursday from 5:00 until 10pm and Saturday and Sunday until 1:00am.

Menu choices include classic French favorites such as Caviar, Seared Medallions of Veal, Creme Brulee, and much more.

Javier's
You can find Javier's at 4912 Cole Avenue in Dallas. The food at Javier's is authentic Mexican cuisine, delicious and gorgeously presented. The ambiance at Javier's is such that you feel as though you are dining in old world Mexico.

Menu items include Cheese Panela, prepared table side, Filete Cantinflas, the house special and desserts including Flan Al Kahlua and Tres Leches Cake.

Monica's aca y alla
Texans love their Tex-Mex and they love Monica's aca y alla in Deep Ellum. Monica's will be offering a special Valentine's Day menu for you and your beloved. Enjoy 3 lovely courses for $35 a person. Monica's is known for their mouth-watering food and sensational margaritas. Look for Monica's aca y alla at 2914 Main Street in Dallas.

Hattie's
Nestled in the Oak Cliff's Bishop Arts District, Hattie's is an American Bistro type setting with true southern charm. The food is simple, sophisticated, and scrumptious. Hattie's will be offering special Valentine's Day menu items on Friday, Sat, and Sun evening during the weekend of Valentine's Day. Find Hattie's at 418 Bishop Avenue in Dallas.

Hattie's hours are Monday through Saturday from 11:30am until 2:30pm for lunch, 5:30 dinner, closed on Mondays at dinner, Sunday: 11-2:30 lunch, and 5:30 dinner.

If you prefer to cook for your honey, consider going out for dessert afterwards and indulging in some decadent red velvet or Godiva chocolate cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory. Or, If you're feeling in the mood, what about celebrating with some vino at Bolsa wine bar in Oak Cliff.

It is recommended to make reservations on Valentine's Day to ensure you receive a table. Be sure to wear your Sunday best and put on her favorite cologne of yours.
