The Best Restaurants in Denver, Colorado

Stephanie Espiritu
When vacationing in Denver there are a lot of restaurants to choose from; casual, up-scale, and somewhere in between are the different types of restaurants available. It's important to know what kind of restaurant it is before heading out for a meal.

I've compiled a list of the best restaurants in Denver and a little information about each of them.

"The White Chocolate Grill" is located in the Lone Tree area just south of Denver. Its exact location is 8421 Park Meadows Center Drive in the Park Meadows Mall. "The White Chocolate Grill" also has locations in the Arizona and Illinois areas. This restaurant serves American dishes such as "Parmesan Chicken Filet," "Balsamic Rib eye Steak," and for dessert many different items including "Molten Chocolate Soufflé Cake." Soft drinks and spirits are served and Entrees start at $9.99 and go up to $24.79. Reservations are limited but they have a call ahead seating program for those that may not be able to wait upon arrival. Hours of operation are 11:00 am to 10:00 pm daily. Call 303-799-4841 or on line at www.whitechocolategrill.com for further information.

"Virgilio's Pizzeria" has been named "The Best Pizzeria in Denver 2010." The restaurant is family owned and Virgilio came from Naples, Italy in 1966. He has brought Italy to Denver and only uses the best ingredients in his food and will continue to do so. Reservations are not accepted at "Virgilio's Pizzeria." Their menu consists of every Italian dish and they also deliver to businesses Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. "Virgilio's Pizzeria" is located in Lakewood at 7986 West Alameda Avenue and can be reached at 303-985-2777 or visit them on line at www.virgiliospizzaria.com.

"Las Delicias" was established in 1976 by Roberto and Norma Torres. Although they started out with one restaurant they now have 5 to accommodate all its customers; locations are North Denver, South East in the Parker area, Glendale, Uptown, and on South Broadway. Hours vary by location and can be reached on line at www.lasdelicias.net. Their menu consists of appetizers, a la carte to go, combo-Mexican dishes; and desserts. Prices are reasonable and "Las Delicias" has been given rave reviews.

If you're in the mood for sushi you can visit "Japon Sushi" at 1028 South Gaylord Street in Denver. Lunch is served Monday through Friday 11:00 am to 3:00 and Saturday 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm (they do not serve lunch on Sunday). Dinner hours are Monday through Thursday 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Friday and Saturday 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and Sunday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. "Japon Sushi" dishes are reasonably priced starting at $6.00 to $27.00 depending on your order. For more information call 303-744-0330 or on the web at www.japonsushi.com.
