Eating Great Without Breaking the Bank

Los Angeles can be overwhelming when looking for a good place to sit down and eat. Be it a quick lunch or a nice relaxing dinner for two, there's just so many restaurants it can make your head spin! What if you pick a junk restaurant that isn't wroth the money? What about the cost of these high priced Los Angeles restaurants? A lot of people worry about those exact problem and completely drop the idea of going out to eat, but you can easily get some great food at a decent price if you just know where to look. I would recommend anyone looking for the best Los Angeles restaurants to check out the following places.

By far, the best place to find the best Los Angeles restaurants is around (within a 20 minute bus ride) the UCLA campus. Maybe it's the high volume of people that attract the best food around, or maybe there is just something about the place that screams "great food" but you can never go wrong picking from the wide selection of restaurants in the area.

Pizza: No if ands or buts about it when your looking for a slice. The only place to mention would be D'Amore's famous pizza located at 1136 Westwood Blvd., Los Angeles, CA. because quite simply, they can't be beat. They have great reviews and have even been voted one of the best pizza's in the US before. They have a great thin crust, fresh toppings, and awesome lunch specials. Their white pizza is also highly recommended (even meatlovers tend to love this one, and it doesn't even have meat!) When looking for the best Los Angeles restaurants and craving some great pizza, this is the end all be all.

Average Cost: $10-$15 per person.

Indian: I use to be a big fan of Chinese food until I discovered this great restaurant that specializes in Indian cosine. I never experienced food with such spice and flavor, but this definitely has both. It's called Makkah Halal Tandoori and located at 401 So. Vermont Ave Los Angeles, CA. They have a huge variety of everything and best of all, it's all made with Halal meats. If it's your first time I would recommend bringing a friend or two and trying out the "mixed Tandoori dinner for two" if you've never had Indian food before. This will be A LOT of -delicious- food so make sure to bring an appetite!

Average Cost: $15-$25 per person.

Japanese: If your in the mood for oriental but not after such a spicy meal, then check out Greenview Thai, located at 11870 Santa Monica Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90025. They have super cheap prices, a very friendly staff and wonderful scenery. This is a great place to bring a date and the flavor of there menu is amazing. Be sure to end the course with a Boba drink for dessert and you will not go home disappointed. Also, there Green Curry is a must have.

Average Cost: $12-$19 per person.

Sushi: First, let me begin this one by telling you: If you have never tried sushi, you HAVE to try this place out. Even if you say "Ewwww", trust me, you will love this place. They can be found at 1769 Santa Monica Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90025. Go around 2pm and try out the lunch specials to get a little of everything, but if your scared to try actual raw fish, start of small by getting an order of California Rolls (there is no meat besides artificial crab meat in them.) You might want to consider ordering to-go however, as they have very little atmosphere and a small in-door dining area. Regardless, I guarantee once you try it you'll know exactly why these guys are being mentioned as one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles.

Average Cost: $6-$12 per person.

These are some of the best restaurants in Los Angeles if your trying to find a delicious meal without paying tons of money for the hype of the restaurant. There's nothing worse than paying $50 for a meal just to walk out disappointed, so why not save a little cash and get a lot more out of the food and experience, which means you can tip a little better.
