Noise level of the restaurant is important, you do not want to have to yell to have a conversation. Here in Murray, KY we are a college town and as you know when college kids get together there can and will be a lot of noise, so make sure that you go on a night when they are most likely to be studying, like on a week day. Lighting is another key issue when considering a romantic evening out with that special someone. If the lighting is too bright, then there is no ambiance, if the lighting is too dark, the restaurant may be trying to hide some of their faults. Jasmine Restaurant (Tai Cuisine) is located at 506 N. 12^th Street, Suite E Murray, KY 42071, (270) 761-8424. Jasmine is at the top of my list because they provide the perfect lighting, great service with extraordinary authentic Tai cuisine. The sushi plater for two is a nice romantic way to spend an evening together, the orange chicken is also to die for, it is a sweet and savory dish; which can lead to sweet kisses after the meal. Jasmine's also makes a fantastic Miso soup that is the best I have ever had and I have lived in New York where Asian cuisine is on every corner, Jasmine's is by far the best Tai cuisine in a very romantic atmosphere. Reservations are suggested.

Los Portales (Mexican Cuisine) is located at 12 Olympic Plaza Murray, KY 42071, (270) 767-0315. I chose this restaurant because of the extremely romantic lighting. Here at Los Portales the dim lighting mixed with amazingly prepared Mexican cuisine makes for a perfect romantic dinner with that special someone. Los Portales offers a full bar and a menu full of authentic Mexican cuisine that will make your mouth water. No reservations needed.

Shogun (Japanese cuisine) is located at 706 N. 12^th Street Murray, KY 42071, (270) 761-7486. This is an amazing restaurant, all the food is prepared fresh right in front of you on some dishes. The atmosphere is amazing, you can dress up for a romantic night or dress down for a casual evening, both are appropriate. On special occasions like birthday, anniversary, graduation the staff here will make a grand spectacle for you with drums, singing and dancing to make you and that special someone feel special!
