The Best Shabby Chic Kitchen Paint Colors

Ann Siper
Shabby chic paint colors are the most affordable way to transform your kitchen or bathroom into a shabby chic designer look. We all know paint is affordable, but how do you choose the best shabby chic paint colors.

I have a BA in Fine arts and find it difficult to be satisfied with a paint color, but have come across a few I always end up telling everyone about!

Over the last ten years I have paints about 20 different kitchens and bathrooms. I have found some of the best shabby chic paint colors are no fail! No need to worry about wanting a great shabby chic paint color for your kitchen, but ending up with a pastel nightmare!

Best Shabby Chic Paint Color #1 - Shabby chic green paint color

One of my favorite and truly one of the best shabby chic paint colors to use in yoru kitchen is the Olive line from Laura Ashley. This lovely green color is not olive at all. Olive colored green paints do not say shabby chic to me, so honestly, then Laura Ashley company should change this name, but hey it looks awesome in a shabby chic kitchen or bathroom!

This is the best green paint in a shabby chic décor. You can find Laura Ashley paint at Lowe's. This green color comes in a variety of shades. They are all named Olive, with the varying shades being Pale Olive 1, 2 and 3.

Best Shabby Chic Paint Color #2 - Shabby Chic Yellow Paint Color

Ok, I know this yellow shabby chic paint color is Laura Ashley again, but when you find a good thing, stick with it.

This awesome shabby chic yellow paint is the perfect mixture of antique yellow and tan. I used this shabby chic yellow paint in my bathroom in my last home and it is truly the best yellow.

No one in my family, including me, likes yellow paint. Everyone in my family who saw it ended up using this shabby chic yellow paint in a room in their own home. We all agree it is the best shabby chic yellow paint out there.

The paint color is warm, warn, and vintage yellow. This vintage yellow paint color also changes with the light. It looks tan in the afternoon and old warm yellow in the morning.

Best Shabby Chic Paint Color #3 - Best Shabby Chic Blue Paint Color

Ok, this awesome shabby chic blue color can be found at Wal Mart. I have a few hang ups about buying products at Wal Mart, but this is such an awesome robins eggs blue! The name of the paint is Delta Blue.

I love love love this vintage colored bleu paint. If you are looking for an energizing vintage blue to use in a shabby chic or retro kitchen then you will love this paint color!

I have even used this shabby chic bleu paint on furniture. It is truly the best shabby chic or vintage blue paint out there. No dull dusty blue for me!

Why would you tell us how great the color is then not tell the correct color ?

  • R. Ann Siper6/16/2010

It is Gold Sand or Sand Gold or Godl Sand, sorry it has been years now, but hopefully they still make it. Sand Gold 2 and 3 are the best - personally I like the #2.

Can you tell me the name of the Laura Ashley yellow paint?

  • Lisa3/23/2010

I was so excited when I found R. Ann Siper's comments about the great yellow paint color which sounded exactly like the color I was looking for. I also was disappointed there was not a Laura Ashley color name or number. I headed out to the nearest Lowes and purchased the LA702 Deep Cowslip 2 and LA703 Deep Cowslip 3. The jury is still out but one of these colors may be exactly what you are looking for.

Again, can you tell us the yellow paint name? If we don't ave the name there is no use. Telling us it is a great yellow does nothing without the name.

  • Sally1/18/2010

Agree - What the heck is the color for the Laura Ashley Yellow?

  • June1/12/2010

Hi. The yellow sounds perfect but you don't say the specific name for the Laura Ashley paint.

  • Paige1/8/2010

PLEASE let us know the actualy paint color names or numbers. You got me all excited about trying your paint finds and now I'm left disappointed because I cannot figure out which shade to buy. Ugh.
