The Best Snacks for Your NFL or NCAA Football Party

Chili just might be the best football food of all-time. This hearty cold weather dish is perfect for serving a hungry crowd. It can be served on its own or as an accompanying dish. This guide provides a basic plan for a party with chili centered football snacks. The ingredients are basic and readily available.

Let us start with the main dish, the chili. I like to keep it simple here, but feel free to get creative with your chili. Basically, I buy ground beef, a chili seasoning packet, beans and canned tomatoes. Follow the directions on the seasoning packet for a great tasting basic chili. You can add some form of peppers if you want to spice it up a bit. If you have access to one, use a crock pot to keep your chili warm for the entire party. Add some corn chips and cheese to make chili pie.

The second snack is another easy football recipe. Hot dogs are chili's perfect match, and are easy to prepare. Pick your favorite dogs and boil, microwave, fry or grill them to perfection. Spoon on some chili, and you have a beautiful chili dog. Be sure you do not forget the buns!

Next comes another crowd pleaser, the baked potato. Bake some potatoes and serve them whole or cut them into wedges before baking. These go extremely well with chili. Be sure to pick up some sour cream as well.

The final dish is a simple cheese dip. Melt some Velveeta and add peppers for some spice. If you want to beef it up, add a little hamburger and/or refried beans. Finish off the dip with tortilla chips. It can also be added to a chili dog or chili potato. Like the chili, use a crock pot to keep the dip warm.

All of these football snacks are easy to prepare in a short amount of time. They will fill up your guests, and make for good grazing food as well. Remember to have plenty of bowls, plates and spoons for all of your guests.
