The Best Spots to Propose Outdoors in Pasadena
Neighborhood: Pasadena
Pasadena, CA 91101
United States of America
I have chosen to introduce you to some of the best outdoor spots to propose in Pasadena. This is an important step, so check out each spot beforehand and choose the one you think best for you and your beloved. Of course, if either or both of you are nature phobes, the best outdoor spots to propose in Pasadena are not for you.

LOWER ARROYO SECO PARK

Take California Ave west until it ends. Turn right and go very slowly and shortly you will see a little road to your left. Take it down into the Arroyo Seco. This part of the Arroyo Seco is being restored with native plants and part of the stream has been restored to a natural state. Walk north along the path. You will come to a small dam and the graceful arches of the Colorado Street Bridge will tower above you. There is a stream fed pond that usually has one mallard duck in it. There is old moss covered broken stone brickwork and a rich, loamy smell. I think this is one of the most romantic spots to propose in Pasadena. After he or she has said yes, you can stroll along a natural tree shrouded stream until you reach Brookside Park.

HUNTINGTON LIBRARY AND BOTANICAL GARDENS
115 Oxford Road
San Marino Ca
626 405 2100

From Colorado take Allen a few blocks south and you will run right into the Huntington. This is a very extensive set of gardens and you can surely find a spot to propose. Strictly speaking this spot to propose in Pasadena is in San Marino but we Pasadenans will annex places we like.

You can choose from the Rose Garden, Shakespeare and Herb Garden, Desert Garden, Japanese Garden, Australian Garden, Subtropical and Jungle Garden, Palm Garden, North Vista, Camilla Collection, or Chinese Garden.

The Chinese Garden is brand new and very popular so it's hard to find a secluded spot. The desert garden is very impressive but somehow not appropriate for a proposal. I'm partial to the Subtropical and Jungle Garden but that's just me.

PRAYER GARDEN
FULLER THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY
135 N. Oakland
Pasadena Ca
626 449 2742

If you are a Christian, or even if you are not, this is a wonderful place to propose. It is a sheltered pool with a wall of incised scripture. There is a bench to sit on when you propose. After the proposal you can both sit there awhile and then stroll around the campus of Fuller that features many old wooden houses that you can explore.

PACIFIC ASIA MUSEUM
46 N. Los Robles Ave.
Pasadena Ca
626 449 2742

The Pacific Asia Museum is a stone's throw from Fuller so if you want to propose twice, here is another top spot to propose in Pasadena. The museum has a courtyard that is free. If is very beautiful with trees, Asian art, and a stream with a pond and Koi. Most of the time it is deserted. You can take a look at the current exhibit after the proposal.

DESCANSO GARDENS
1418 Descanso Dr.
La Canada Flintridge

The Descanso Dardens is an extensive arboretum nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. If features a forest where Robin Hood might have proposed to Maid Marianne. There is a lake, a Japanese Garden with pools and waterfalls, a Japanese teahouse, an International Rosarium and a stream that meanders through part of the forest. It is especially known for having one of the largest collections of camellias in the world. In all of this you should be able to find a spot for a proposal in Pasadena. Well, it's not really in Pasadena but we have annexed it.
