1789 Restaurant: If you're looking for an upscale spot for a romantic dinner, the 1789 should be on your list. This 40 year old restaurant has 4 different rooms for romantic settings. In addition, the dinner menu has some great meals options. The wine list has a great selection of wines to choose. The only drawback is that the romantic dinner will have a large bill. If you got the cash to afford it, it should not a big deal to you and your date.

Firefly: Located inside the Hotel Madera in Dupont Circle, Firefly offers the quintessential urban neighborhood setting and mouthwatering American cuisine. When you enter the restaurant, you will immediately notice the floor-to-ceiling "firefly tree", hung with lanterns and lit by candles. This venue has an intimate 60-seat dining room or the 32-seat lounge. It's great for group, but you prefer to have one table for romantic evening. The menu is reasonable price, and it has an extensive wine list. You might want to check out happy hour as Firefly pours Chef John Wabeck's selections of red and white wines by the glass.

IndeBleu: One of downtown DC's new hot spot, IndeBleu is a bar, a lounge and a fine fusion restaurant wrapped up in one unique place. The place is exotic as the food on their menu. As for dinner, some of the menu items may be great for the big spenders. A 3 course meal will run you up to $55. If not a big spender, you may have to stick to getting 2 appetizers. From the dining room to the cocktail line at the bar, you and your date will leave a great experience. The best part is it's next door to the Verizon Center, Regal Gallery Place Movie Theater and National Portrait Gallery.
