When I heard that Screen On The Green was postponed, it came as a surprise because I knew friends and colleagues who have attended that event every summer. However, I found some other summer outdoor movie series in the region you can watch movies without the high price of popcorn.

Crystal Screen Superheroes: Each year, the Crystal City Business Improvement District holds its annual outdoor summer movie festival. Last year, they played James Bond movies. In 2007, they played westerns starring Clint Eastwood. This summer, they air superhero movies. Remember when you wanted to just like the superheroes on television, movies and comics. Now, you can enjoy them again. This year's film series features movies from comic book heroes like Superman, Spiderman, Batman, X-Men, Hulk and more. This event happens every Monday from May 4 to September 21. The Crystal Screen Film Event takes place at 18th and Bell Street, near the Crystal City Metro Station. The films in this series will start at sundown. For those who can make it on Monday, Crystal City Sports Pub will re-broadcast each movie at 3:30 p.m. every Wednesday on the 3rd floor following the outdoor showing. The Crystal City Sports Pub is located at 529 23rd St. South.
