The Best Super Bowl Commercials

Daniel Rein
This coming year you will probably be like the millions of other sports fans who watch the Super Bowl on television. A big part of watching the Super Bowl is that it often has most the year's best commercials. Why is this? Because companies spend roughly 2.5 million dollars for a thirty second commercial. You read that right. Thirty Seconds! 2.5 million! Wow! Here are the Super Bowl commercials that have been featured in the past and the inspiration for their ideas.

You can separate the Super bowl commercials into four main categories if you think about it. First there are the Beer commercials which are a popular favorite. Then there are car commercials, followed by erectile dysfunction commercials and then there is everything else. The first three categories I mention are by far the most sighted commercials because those companies target the Super Bowl audiences as male adrenaline sports fans in their middle ages. Beer, Cars and sex all fall into that distinction of middle aged men watching the Super Bowl.

Can you imagine just how much money commercial writers get paid to write the scripts for actors to read during the Super Bowl? The amount of money getting spent and being paid is millions. Often a great commercial that is remembered by viewers will go down in infamy as one of the greatest commercials. In fact many television news stations have segments the day after the Super bowl in which they air the top 5 best Super Bowl commercials. There is competition among companies to have the best Super bowl commercials.

The Super Bowl commercials are hilarious and famous people and animals are used often to make it funny. In one commercial I remember last year the song "can't touch this" was played in the background and the legendary singer who sang the song appeared in the commercial and did a dance and played a part in the commercial. The commercial itself was funny but having the singer in it was legendary.

When animals are used, the results are often hilarious as well. In the computer commercials I remember, monkeys or chimps appear and a man in an office says the punch line of "I feel like I'm working with monkey" as the chimps jump all over the desks and computers in the office.

The Super bowl half time commercial also attracts fans and very often companies well pay extra money to show the commercial at halftime of the Super bowl.

Beer commercials usually are the funniest. Budweiser comes out with some great commercials. I still remember the commercial with the frogs and one names Lenny. There were several frogs and each one of them said a syllable like "Bud, Wis- Er" It was really funny. In another commercial they used horses and zebras and simulated a football game with the zebras being the referees who wear striped shirts.

Stay tuned for the best Super Bowl commercials coming soon!
