My Favorite Matches
Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog - One of the matches I liked were between Bret Hart and Davey Boy Smith aka The British Bulldog in Wembley Stadium. It was Bret's technical prowess vs the strength and power of the British Bulldog. This is a classic match and was done at the time the Intercontinental Belt meant something. Nowadays mid carders and jobbers end up winning it.
Bret Hart vs Stone Cold Steve Austin - This is another 4-5 star match between the Excellence of Execution and the rattlesnake. few fans know that Bret asked the WWE to hire Steve so they could work in matches.
Despite their seething hatred in the ring, the two are actually good friends. It was Bret Hart who told Vince McMahon to pick up Stone Cold.
Bret Hart vs Curt Hennig - These two are two of the best in-ring technicians of all time. Rarely do you see people the caliber of Bret Hart and Curt Hennig nowadays.
The Verdict
-To me Bret Hart will always be The Best There is, the best there was and the best there ever will be
-Few wrestlers have the technical skill of a Bret Hart nowadays. The list is short and included Kurt angle and Samoa Joe.
-Bret Hart was good technically as well as on the mic. Not many can do that nowadays.
-Hart's story is tragic. He has lost many loved ones including family members like Owen, Dean and Stu. He has also lost friends like Brian Pillman and Miss Elizabeth. To add to that are health problems like concussions and strokes. A lesser man would have given up.
-Bret Hart was presented in a way he should have been as a hero
and an icon.
-Bret always had good matches.
-The matches included very very good. I like the Hart vs Austin the most.
Despite being good friends in real life, their in ring persona manifested a lot of hatred towards each other.
-I despised Vince McMahon for screwing Bret. The same with Shawn Michaels. In his interviews Shawn now uses God as a shield to cover the wrongs he did before. This was in the US show Off the Record. I like Michaels as a performer but not as a human being.
-He was named as one of the top Canadians of all time.
-Bret's legacy will live on forever.
